Key Fob Damage

Today I accidentally dropped my key fob on pavement. It still works, but cosmetically bruised. There're some OEM fobs selling on Fleabay. I'm wondering if I could get one and move my circuit board to that donor fob? Is it doable? I did a swap on my previous W211. Thx.

Thanks Belarus27, I appreciate your offer. I ordered one off Fleabay. If I screw that one up, I may take you up on your offer.

I see no reason why this swap wouldn't work. Good luck!

You can buy one of the key fob "condom" from amazon to cover up the cosmetic damages. My friend did that so he can wear his skin tight jean/gym short without the key chain on the fob. Something about without hitting............

Whaaaat? People in Suckramento aren't that generous. You must not be from there. :smash:

To the OP - I have read that people did exactly that - switch out the circuit board and had no issues with it.
