Question Does anyone have the Stanley 15amp Battery Charger?

Been shopping for a battery charger, conditioner and starter. This Stanley 15amp 40amp jumpstart model seems to fit the bill, intuitive to use, and all the features I think I need at an affordable price.. Does anyone here have experience with this charger? Does it jumpstart as advertised?

I especially like the design that provides cable storage... The online reviews sound very favorable...

Just $45 at Walmart...

Not sure how useful 40 amps is for starting, might need 400 amps or more depending on how drained the battery is. Another thing to consider is how high the voltage gets when charging. Usually you have to look in the manual for that. MB specifies that chargers connected while battery is still installed should not exceed 14.3 or 14.7 volts. Many of these chargers will go above 15 volts which could be harmful to electronics in the car. But if you're pulling battery out of car to charge then that voltage' do not exceed' would not apply.

Just an FYI, normally you can just delete the stuff after the ? in the URL so your link is really:

And if you're looking for a cheap battery charger, how about this $18 one that's an 8 amp charger?

Amazon Amazon

I'm not a fan of the 15 amp charger as the best charging current is 10 amps or less. The main battery is typically 80-90 amp hours so if you just throw the 8 amp charger on it, it should charge up the battery overnight. 40 amps isn't really a lot of power to start a car, typically it's more like 100-200 amps, maybe 40 would do it on a nice warm summer day. The only way I could see that working is to first charge the battery for a few minutes and then maybe the 40 amp boost in addition to the battery would get it started.
