I have heard that the E Class is used as taxi cabs in Europe. That must bring on a lot of miles and reasons for design / build decisions.

My 2011 E 550 is relatively low mileage at 52,900 miles to date (new to us).

Who wants to declare their mileage for this W212 E Class series ... low & high mileage could be interesting.

2010 E550 101,000 miles so far, bought it at 77,000 miles about 3.5 years ago. I think I have fairly average miles for a car this age.

While I only have 60K on my 5 year old E350, I'm definitely interested in knowing how many miles I can expect to get out of an E350.

I had been told at least 150K, so hoping to see numbers higher than that.

God I hope to get well over 300K else I will feel ripped off.

Heck my chevy avalanche which is 18 years old and 165K has not had any issues other than oil changes, brakes and other normal maintenance per the book.

IMHO: Cars should last well over 200K with normal maintenance. I could see in 10 years no more then $1000 in unexpected repair.
We are driving MB Expect nothing less then the best so they better last else MB is a fraud and no better then a pinto.

2014 E350 with 25k miles. I bought it thinking I'd drive a LOT more, and then 6 months later I ended up getting a job in NYC and now have a 1 mile commute to the train station. Oh well.

2014 4Matic purchased in 2017 at 43k miles on it. I'm getting close to 666666 Planning to take a pic with all 6's including trip meter.

I see no reason why an E350 with oil changes every 5k can't go to 250k easily. It's not a high revving engine.

It seems that people who are going to drive a Mercedes are either going to drive them 10-15k a year, or be a traveling sales exec/consulting type who puts on 30k a year. The problem with the 2nd category is if you show up at a customer/client in a Benz, that customer might think "this guy/gal is making too much money." Which may be why you don't see model numbers on the trunk in Germany.

High mileage so far = a 2010 with 101,000 miles (say 13 K per year)

Low mileage so far = a 2010 with 42,000 miles (say 5 K per year).

At this rate the hugest I could predict - for a 2009 model year would be about 114,000 miles.

pretty sure @pb39374 was pointing out that you likely put one too many 6's in your odometer reading. Either that or you REALLY like to drive and put 600,000 miles on your car in 2 years! LOL

"Nothing but the best" what? You certainly cannot compare the cost of maintaining an E350 with a Chevy truck. Completely different vehicles with completely different purposes and expectations. Your interpretation of Mercedes advertising might not go along with reality.

I never said cost of maintenance would not be different - I understand Chevy oil change will be cheaper then MB and Brake pads etc - NORMAL maintenance items.

But I do not expect my MB tranny to fail or engine Balance shaft or head bolts to fail or all these other things you can read about on here.
Failure of major components is unacceptable and NOT Nothing But the Best.

I Just read thread where GT owner steering pump failed @ 6Kmiles - That is CRAZY NUTZ and MB should be embarressed it ever was posted on a website.
$100K car cannot go past 6K miles without having to be towed for a steering pump?

I bought a MB not an Alpha Romeo.
I researched this car and I take care of it and I hope it lasts without incidenet past the CPO.
If not she is gone - otherwise she can stay in the fleet.

I find it crazy reading on here how owners find it acceptable for engine failures and tranny failures as it is OK just a part of driving a MB.
I am just demanding nothing but the best from MB like advertise....

my point is for the money we spend on MB they should last a lot longer then a cheap Ford or Chevy....
and those last well over 200K with maintenance only and driven normally.

No one finds it crazy to spend all this money on MB and it is OK for them to fail before 100k?
Not me.

Maybe MB is just trying to get the cars to last a 3 year lease since that seems to be the majority way they move cars now.
Figure once they lease the first one they get stuck in the lease game since every 3 years you need a new car.

Miss the days when you could get a 240D and drive it for ever as long as you kept rust at bay. Heck took my drivers license test in 240D standard.
AWesome car. Well engineered and deigned to last.

MB made in the 70's & 80's were the best or nothing.... well engineered cars and would last a long time.
I have worked on MB since I was 15 at a MB specialist shop owned by a German MB tech.

I am a retired new car dealer who had franchises from Ford to Rolls Royce over four decades. It would be completely naive to think ANY vehicle will not have problems over a 100,000 miles or sooner. There are even large service departments behind Honda and Toyota showrooms where they are generally filled with broken machines.

I could have bought anything I wanted when I retired and I am now on my fourth Mercedes. I buy them not because they never break but simply because I think they are the best vehicle available on an over all basis. If you want mechanical long term reliability you are most likely better off with another Chevy truck.

My friend drives 16 years old Honda and the first problem he had was clutch plate at about 245,000 miles. Now at 260k he still has factory rear brake shoes.
I shared riding with him going skiing and the only complain I would have about Honda is road noise. Other than that, the gas engine delivers 35 mpg.
I drive MB diesels since 20 years ago that was the cheapest drive to date. Now with fuel prices changing -diesel is not so much money saving option, while amount of problems with newer emission systems is overwhelming.
Meaning would I want to buy new car today, I'd go Honda.

I think Hondas are wonderful cars. I bought my kids several of them when they were growing up and going to college. They are not perfect. Every dealer can tell you the same story including Honda dealers. They all have the never ending story of customers complaining about their product breaking, but fill in the blank product, never breaks. That is simply not true. Go down to any brand of store on Monday and tell me they have no cars in their service department with problems. Tell me about the Honda 1.5 turbo motor oil dilution problem, the CRV radio problems, and the Civic SI rev hang problem driving dealers nuts. As well, nobody could argue that trying to compare an E350 with a Honda Accord just does not equate!
