After putting on aftermarket intake code P0071
Before I get any further please don’t witch hunt me for modding my intake. I didn’t like the look of the stock on and I wanted to be louder. I slapped a spectre 4” ram filter onto the MAF, and it fit a little tight, but no issue. I drove home for 60 ish miles and no check engine light. Tonight I had scanned for any codes and noticed code p0071 was pending. It still hasn’t become an actual CEL but I want to avoid that if possible. Code p0071 says that the AAT (ambient air temperature ) sensor is not working properly. Many sites claim this is because of a disparity between the AAT and IAT (Intake air temp.). This would make sense because now the filter is on the maf located at the rear of the engine, likely being heat soaked. I did notice on my drives that the coolant temp was a little lower than usual. Any ideas? I have no issue swapping back to my stock air box, but that would be 23$ wasted unfortunately. |
Sounds like you've invested more than $23 of your time worrying about the issue and avoiding CELs, etc, that the intake is worth. I would swap it back... Lesson Learned.

maybe your sensor is bad as easy as that , and its been there for a while
