Tired of wires everywhere...

I finally did it. Bought a 3 Port Cigarette Lighter Adapter Outlet Extension Box 12V DC and installed it under the passenger side of the dash. Works great! No more wires sticking out of the center console, no more having the ashtray open to use the 12v cig lighter. This car is too beautiful inside to have all those wires everywhere. I have a radar detector, a camera and two port usb charger. The wife and I have our separate iPhone chargers. No more arguing over who got it. The only negative is that the wires still run from the windshield down to the adapter. Some day I'll hide them inside the cowl pillars. Install was easy, didn't even have to splice the wires, the connector plug is so tight, I just shoved them in the plug. Why can't MB get a hint from the Japanese or the Americans and give us enough usb and 12v ports and a center console that is everyday functional? Why hide them? BTW, we'll cross that mountain when we have to change the cabin air filer, don't ask...

Great idea. That's a nice, clean install.

I might have to add this to my "to do" list :rolf:

I was thinking about doing something like this under the passenger seat. Haven't done any research yet. Kids in back are always charging devices and cables are always out. Figured under the seat could work for front or back seat use.
