Check Engine Light, code P2571
I have a 2011 E350, recently got a check engine light, I scan the car with my handle OBD2 scanner come back as code P2571,
maybe from a sensor in the radiator and seems like an uncommon problem for W212, one post I found on Benz World mention that it's causing by after market HID kit, which I have, but it's a quality unit from MTEC. I try reset the code with my scanner, it went away for two weeks and just came back yesterday, so I think the problem is legit. Meanwhile, car drives perfect, doesn't feel like anything is wrong. so I want to see anyone has any experience on that, any input will be appreciated. :) |
Call the manufacturer of the lights and see what they have to say. If anyone has experience with this p-code, it will be them.

Autoguysland give some benefits and difference of them so I want to see anyone has any experience on that, any input will be appreciated. :) |

Consider having someone pull codes using MB DAS (diagnostics) could be related to exhaust oxygen sensor(s).

Hey guys, sorry for the late update, thanks konigstiger, that's the sensor that I originally thinking about.
But here's what happened, the day after I post this thread (7/11), I drove my car to work, to lunch and back (less than 9 miles total), and when I pick up my car after work, the CEL is gone as soon as I started the engine, and it haven't comes back till today (knock on wood) do you guys think I should bring it to the shop nonetheless just in case ? or just the sensor acting funny and I shouldn't worry about it until it light up for the 3rd time ? I have the same 2011 E350, and the same check engine problem with P2571.
Sometimes the check engine light would go away by itself, but most of the time, it need to be clear using the OBD reader. On my most recent smog check (July 2019), the car failed the test due to the permanent code for this problem...The smog check shop owner told me that I need to go to the dealership, and it may still be covered by warranty... To my surprise, the Mercedes Benz dealership checked and confirmed the problem, and fixed it for free. You should definitely bring it to the dealership. |
