No Sound from speakers
I was listening to music and all of a sudden the sound cut out. I can navigate the menus, swap between bluetooth, FM, AM, etc, but there is just no sound at all. GPS voice has no sound either. I checked EVERY fuse and they’re all fine. I removed the COMAND unit and cleaned off all the fiber connectors and reseated them, still nothing. Does anyone have any input? Is it possible that the AMP died? Does anyone have any suggestions?!
I called Mercedes and they said the AMP is roughly $1800 for a rebuilt one. Thats insane!!!!

Most common problem, amplifier. However, there are cases where COMAND unit or satellite radio receiver needed replacement. Best to have someone pull codes and if they have the ability, check for COMAND software update. Steadfast on circumventing codes shop compatible amp part #s, 2129005213 or current 2129006226 best to match part # installed.

Thank you for the feedback! I just located the AMP in the rear. It's very expensive for the size of this thing in my opinion... I am going to go to a car audio shop near me today to see if they can troubleshoot it. I found a used AMP on Ebay for $250 so ill most likely buy that to see if it fixes the issue.

Reset the COMAND unit, hard rebooted the COMAND unit, removed the COMAND unit and checked all connectors and re-seated them, checked AMP power and the fan does work and it does power on (not sure if there is anything else wrong with it inside?), checked EVERY fiber connector in the trunk, and still no sound. I have disconnected the battery in the front and in the rear for 30 minutes, and checked EVERY fuse in the front and in the trunk and it's still not working.
I really don't want to bring this thing to Mercedes because they charge $160 an hour and I know they're going to charge atleast 3 hours of service, and i'm assuming they still won't find what the issue is (or at least from the threads i was reading on forums they couldn't find the problem). Does anyone know if I can just swap AMP's to verify if the AMP is not the issue? Or does the AMP need to be programmed after I test it?

This has happened to me at least 4 times. Every time completely random and I usually wait a day or 2 for it to resolve itself. I imagine you may have experienced a real failure if by now it has not magically repaired itself

It's only been 2 days but I don't see this repairing its self. I think something is failing/failed and it needs to be replaced And I hope it's not the AMP because that's super expensive.

Most likely - I never looked into trying to repair it and guess I was just lucky that in my case it seemed a computer glitch of some sort- mine never stop playing while listening to music - was usually when I turned on the ignition that there was no sound and then a day or so later, turning it on again, it blasted my out having been twisted full blast while mal-functioning.
Have you tried connecting your phone, switching to Bluetooth (Spotify) or any of the other audio connections, and then back again?

Bluetooth (Spotify youtube etc), FM, AM, Sat radio, Navigation sound, nothing. Do you know if you can just swap out the AMP with another one? Or do you have to re-program it? I have a buddy that has the same Mercedes E Class as mine and was thinking to just swap out AMP's to see if it works in mine.

I had the same issue took it to the dealer they charged me a lot of money but we finally found the issue it was Another small amplifier located behind the glove box it was not faulty but for some reason there was no current going into the amp with some little wiring the sound came back instantly

Here is what I have done so far:

How did you manage to get current back into this module behind the glove box??
Any actual pictures or Part Numbers?
