Stage 2 CEL

Hey guys, so I have a quick question to everyone that's running stage 2 in their M278 cars.

But a little back story before, basically last week I had gotten catless DPs, I drive home and on the way home I had gotten the CEL for the cats, which was expected. I had uploaded stage 2 from one of the tuners on here and thought everything was ok, but about 10 miles later I got the CEL again, and now have been going back and forth with the company. The last thing they asked me was if I had the o2 bungs in place, and I told them I did, but doesn't stage 2 cancel out those sensors anyway?

Basically my questions are.

1. Doesn't stage 2 cancel out the 02 sensors?

2. Why does the CEL keep coming back? I was told by the tuner that I needed to use an OBD2 code clearer for the code to go away, I used my Torque app and cleared it, but it keeps showing me "historic fault" and the CEL comes back on.

3. This one is kind of unrelated, but did any of you stage 2 owners get a smell? Like holy crap coming to a stop with my windows down I immediately get the smell of gas lol.

You should NOT be getting a smell of gas what so ever. With no cats you will only smell exhaust but if you had it installed correctly there should not be an exhaust leak that strong. Who is your company? you are here in California and OC is not that far from you where most of the local tuners are. You are correct that stage 2 for catless dp's is turning off the CEL btw.

It's pretty strong. I was expecting some sort of smell with Catless DPs, but not this strong lol. Going to go to a Mercedes-Benz Indy shop tomorrow for them to reset the CEL with the start system.

And other than the smell of gas, could there be anything detrimental with the exhaust leak?

It is all in the tune... rear O2 sensors can be deleted(sensor unplugged) or they turn off the rear O2 diagnostic (sensors intalled). Definitely you should not have a gas smell. What company are you using???

So I went to get my oil changed and then had the indy delete the CEL per OE's instructions with xentry, but CEL still came on about the cats. I'm at a loss here :/

I was going to say maybe they sent you the wrong tune. Glad you got it fixed.
Make sure you get that gas smell checked out as well.

Appreciate it brotha! The place I went to said everything smelled "like it's supposed to" they said the car smells like any other catless one they have smelt! This is my first foray into the catless world so I'm getting used to the new sights and smells lol!
