Beautiful car, I'd love to see better pictures of the paint.

The color is beautiful, and interesting. Depending on the light, it can look black, dark blue, or green. Here are sone pictures of the paint in direct sunlight and in shadow, but it will be hard to capture a true representation.

Andre, that is a gorgeous color! I am a big fan of MB's colors that change so much depending on lighting. I have a 2007 E550 in Granite Grey. It goes from light grey, to blue grey, to a pale green. I don't drive it much, when I do I'm still amazed by the color. If I were to replace it, I would also choose Piedmont Green.

Nothing that special, just a really nice ride. 19" AMG wheels and Parktronic. Nut brown and black interior is a nice change from black on black.

Great looking car ... I like the contrasting interior color with the black exterior. Similar feel to my beige interior with the selenite gray exterior.

This is VERY similar to the design of my build. It looks fantastic, can't wait for mine to arrive in Feb/March!

I'm having waiting conuptions and mine and my build date is 1st week of march so I probably will not get mine till april!!!! :mercy:

My E300 bought off a dealer lot in Late Sept. was assembled in August so a month seems about right if all goes right with the shipping.

Ive always loved the "classic" AMG rim. I wish they made them in 19 an 20. I don't like the dual spoke 20's at all, I went with the multispoke. Guess Im an old fuddy duddy.

They don't look that different since the last iteration of the w212 had already adopted the front look of the new model, the biggest difference from the rear doors back, a more swooping rear pillar and rounded rump with different tail lights. Even the wheels are a variation of the same motif (I like the new ones better). I cant wait for mine to arrive to see the brown leather first hand. Personally Ive never liked black on black interiors that was one of my peeves with my s2000.

IMO, that brown is the most unique MB color out there right now. I think it is similar to Dakota Brown in the US. The finance manager at the MB dealer I go to has a 2016 E350 in Dakota Brown - so sharp looking.

Let's put it this way.

We took a trip down to Serbia from Switzerland. On the way down we went through the Swiss Mountain roads via Italy then to Slovenia, Croatia and then Serbia.

On the way back we went through Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany into Switzerland.

Most of the trip the roads were ****ty. I had no complaints whatsoever as far as the comfort goes. I believe the car has handled the trip well, we did not feel tired or sore.

I say go for it.

That's great news! I'm coming from a Jeep so I'm guessing anything would feel more comfortable at this point. The fear of high maintenance costs is what's concerning me most for ABC, I'm happy to hear you're doing fine without it!

If you don't mind me asking, which Jeep are you coming from? Before I got my E300 I came from a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Yep that exact one (Overland, Hemi and all the stuffings). I'm gonna miss it, but I'm finding it's just too big for us in Germany. I mean it literally barely fits in my garage. Great vehicle and I see myself leasing one in a couple years.

Nice I just had the baritone Laredo E as a lease to get me through undergrad. It is such a great car. Right before I traded it in, I took a road trip from FL to NY and it makes a great road trip car.

Very cool, I love the Dilworth area. I'm in Indian trail. I saw that you have a Piedmont green E class. Had never seen that color and looked it up. That's a really beautiful color. I'll look out for you! I also saw that you had trouble with the mbrace app. I was having trouble with that too, but got it fixed, and works great now. Let me know if you are still having issues with it, and I can tell you how to get it up and running well.

How's the ride on the 19s? I just switched my order from the 18" AMG Wheels to these after obsessing over it the past couple weeks. Just felt like the 18s didn't quite fit with the overall look. I also opted for the Air Body Control too so that should help with any harshness.

DaveKarn ... I like the ride a lot ... certainly not harsh and handles like a dream. I don't have air ride control, but I don't miss it. And somehow the 19s just look right.

I find it interesting that the W213 looks great in white, but the 5 series looks like a beached whale in the same colour.

My 2017 E300, special ordered on March, 2016 and finally got it on 10/01/2016. I got pretty much everything on it (both designo in and out :)), maybe just a few accessories are not available (like the Comfort Box in the trunk something like that).

Very sharp, love it! Like I said above, I'm jealous of you folks with the white interior, my jeans always stain them! Also curious to see how the matte paint holds up for you. I contemplated it for a long time, but it just didn't seem like a feasible option for me right now. Looking at doing a wrap sometime down the road though.

Don't be jealous us for the white interior, you have no idea the pain when it was rained outside and we get in our car, what a mess we made. I have to clean my white carpet and use some premium leather clean tool to clean and protect white leather every week, so as I said it looks nice but comes with the pain as well. However, we still love it, especially when we open the door, the designo diamond white exterior and the designo white interior make the perfect color combination that everyone see this moment will have a wow after that. However, it is my opinion that if you choose the exterior color as the Selenite Grey Magno (matte), then please choose the interior as the designo Black/Titanium Grey Pearl Exclusive Nappa leather. Since this will be the perfect color combination. The white interior does not fit for the Selenite Grey Magno at all (it is my opinion). See the video below as it is the official color combination for the 2017 E300.

Having ordered an E400 with the white designo interior, I was interested in your remarks on what you have to do to keep it clean. Can you please give some further details: what your regular protective routine is, which products you use, and any other good advice? I would be very grateful.

Well, nothing special actually. I wash my car every week (on the weekend) in the car wash, then I will detail it myself after the car wash. Then, for the interior I will use some premium leather protection and cleaning spray (for cleaning the white or light color leather). You can search online as there are many kind of these items available. However, the key in order to keep the white interior as white as possible is do not let the any dark color liquid (such as the coke, some food that with the juicy sauce on it and etc.,) and any kind of the oil (you know, the food) drop on the leather, it will be your nightmare and you will spend countless time to clean it out, and it will not go away at all. Therefore, do not eat or drink in your car is the key rule to keep the white interior clean for your car. The next is trying to wear the clean and tidy clothes as often as you can, especially the pants, do not wear the same pants more than two or three days when you sit in your car, because the dirt on your pants will eventually wear on the chair, so later on the chair will not as white as before (that's why I use the leather protection and cleaning spray to clean the seat every week to prevent it happens), so wearing the clean and tidy clothes is the best way to keep the white chair clean. That's pretty much everything I have, in order to let the white interior looks as new as long as possible is not easy, but it is worth as to me the desgino white interior is the best looking interior for the W213 :)

Julian, Mine has been flawless - the one issue I had was self-inflicted (I broke a trim piece trying to install my dash cam) and the dealer fixed it for no charge without an appointment. You may find the ride a little firm with the runflats, but I consider that a small price to pay for not stopping to change a flat tire. Enjoy the car!

Is your car lowered? I have been searching for springs for this car. Have not had any luck. Anyone?

^^ I believe Vic has the air body control and since he is an MB tech, he has access to the Star diagnostic system which allows him to change the ride height

Correct, but using the Star Diagnostic you can only go so low, to lower even further you will need to modify the height sensors at each wheel using adjustable links.


There are two different H&R lowering kits available for steel suspension, they lower 30mm (on paper)


H&R-28.740.1 up to 1105kg front axle weight and
H&R-28.740.2 from 1106kg front axle weight


The latter is normally used for larger engines and 4-matic as they are heavier up front, but we usually use the lighter spring in all applications as it tends to lower a bit more.

The wait is finally over. Ordered November 29 or so, built March 24 in Sindelfingen and ready for delivery May 1. Hood stars are underrepresented here and so are wagons, so I figured I'd changed that a bit....

Between ordering (blindly) and delivery, I had my fair share of doubts after starting to read about the care limitations with this paint (handwash etc.).
Can't say anything about that part yet, but just from the looks of it I am inclined to state that I did everything right... :)

What care limitations for the paint do you speak of?

That's quite a downer article, but thanks much for posting.

From what I heard, the finishes supposedly got much better and less sensitive over the years. There are also plenty care products out that tend to matte finishes.

I will certainly not wash my car with two buckets every week (while I appreciate a nice looking car, I am not the type to be investing too much of my time in the upkeep I am embarrassed to say). I'll plan on dousing it down with a power washer every now and then probably, and pay the local hand-wash car wash a visit to see how they perform.

Can't be all that bad as long as you try to avoid auto car washes. And if it is, well, then I just have to drive it until it falls apart if I can't sell it. And I don't see a problem with that, if the fun driving this continues at even a fraction of what it is right now. Love this ride, and am relieved to see proof for the theory that happy drivers rarely post their positive experiences on boards like this, but the unfortunate owners who scored a lemon (rightfully so) air their grievances here. I was a bit concerned following many of these posts here over the past few months.

Best of luck to those of you who have issues with their rides. I hope one day you'll get to experience how great this vehicle is when all systems work as they are supposed to.

That is a great E400S Luxury. Nice look combining the matte paint and Luxury trim. Won't see one every day!

Just picked up my 2017 Black E43 last week and Its been an excellent ride so far! Has just the right amount of power for when I want to open it up and can also be very quiet and smooth for my 1.5 year old daughter and clients I drive around once in a while :)

Car and brakes looks great! Who painted them? The dealership or an aftermarket body shop? I asked my dealership (United States) about painting the calipers on an E300 and they said they wouldnt do it.

Hi the dealership here has a paint and panel shop that you can take your car if you have an accident or need any body work done i was told that they do this a lot here and it was not that hard to do it even has a warranty on this work same as the car.

Sweet! I'm doing almost the same, but adding night package (MY 2018 has that) along with the air body control, 3 zone climate and panorama roof.

Lol - 2 colours I'll never buy again are Cavansite Blue (the ill fated sedan I had for two months) and the green my colleague has. In UK light they pretty much always look black! What a disappointment!

They are not and its kind of silly. The 20s offered in the US for the 300 are simply fuggly. Im not a big fan of the new dynamic design of the other 20s on the 43, I guess Im turning into an old fuddy duddy. The turbine design is both sporty and classy.

Yes, it is odd especially since the C class can have multi spokes.

I've had black for so many years and have spent so much time washing them to keep them clean, that this time I went with selenite gray. Hides dirt very well!! But as said before, nothing looks better than a clean, shiny black car.

We are back home from Germany now. Thank you for your nice message about my car. My current car, which I'll enjoy till the new one gets here, is black, so I understand your preference for that color, which is always classy. But we were really pleased with the red when we saw it in person--not red-orange but a lovely deep crimson.

The Ext-int combinations you have is one of the best. Jade Green is also nice ext combination with the beautiful designo interior you picked.

Mine doesn’t stay clean for long enough to take a ton of nice pictures, but here’s the outside at least. Inside I have widescreen cockpit, hud, drive pilot, black nappa and I also went for air suspension. I suppose the idea was sporty on the outside, comfy on the inside.

The technicians at Mercedes pointed out that the factory wheel arch is lower in the rear so it gives the illusion that it’s lower. I wish vogtland would’ve compensated for that.

to be honest i never wanted a silver E Class, although that combination is normally ubiquitous.

I was going to order a Kallaite Green, which is known as Piedmont Green in America, with beige / nut brown interior. There was a special edition launched in Australia called the Night Edition which includes: black lamella (not silver) grille, black accents, panoramic roof, AMG pack exterior, elegance interior (therefore you could order beige), and a few other good options, metallic paint, black and bright silver wheels.

In Australia the cars are always specced higher than overseas markets so they include things like COMAND, Apple Car Play, leather, full digital dash as standard

If you have AMG pack in Oz you cant get beige, if you like a lighter interior.

They offered this on the 200 and 220d and as i do a lot of distance driving (drove 452km yesterday one way) , the 220d has been a great engine. If they offered the night edition in a 350d or a 300 i may have chosen that but it was a limited special edition. I chose the saloon over the coupe as i have elderly family members to take in to consideration and i was this >< close to the coupe with magno paint and porcelain and black interior :slap:

Pretty much the same for me, just ordered the E class in silver, with the AMG pack, should be arriving in Australia as well next year. Wish MB Australia give us more choices for interior color and trims.

I was first worried that the 220 wouldn’t be enough but like the Carsguide video i was watching its more than enough.

Silver is such a classic Mercedes color. Nice.

I must admit i prefer the silver with the night pack - somehow the black lamellas make all the difference to me.
I also love the mixed colour it brings, not sure i could do a black car with black wheels. I don’t mind a silver or white with it.

I recently sold my SLK to make way for the E class , but now i am missing my baby - does anyone else have a Mercedes convertible?

I hear a lot about the resale of the car, but truth be told, in Australia the e class has terrible resale regardless. The best performing cars on resale are the SUVs such as GLE, ML, etc. Pity really as i think the E class is what Mercedes is all about. So perhaps its just quicker to sell as opposed to financially better (i wonder) :-)

Yes, I keep an SL which is my own car. My E Coupe is a company car.

I can well understand why you would miss the SLK - Mercedes do these grand touring convertibles with a lot of style and comfort, even though the weather in the U.K. plays a big part in how much I actually use it!

Dad has an SL 500 and its a beautiful car. I just miss the top down experience.

I wouldn't mind the C convertible however it doesnt have car play in Oz, i like the car play so i can do messaging when i need to on the go. Whereas COMAND i cant make text messages with iphone 7

This sucks but it had to be done, winter is almost here.
Had to fit the tiny training wheels..

Vic, the wagon looks great, even with the "training wheels."

Very simple. Theres two holes drilled on the inside of the flaps/splitters. Had to sand down the stearing pins on the back to make it easier so that i dident have to pre drill in the bumper

so you just fixed them with tape? is it secure?

I used some double adheisive to hold them in place when i fasstened them properly with screws. worked great for me

Those look like original equipment, which I'm surprised fit an E300. I like the look...black mesh with thin polished rim. If they are OE, I would like to know more (part nbr if possible).

What similar rims do you have? I like the mesh style, AND, don't want any that stick out beyond the wheel openings.

I have not been able to find one.

I'm actually not even sure if it's burl walnut I have it's what I thought I ordered, can't remember (dealer couldn't do open pore ashwood so I said I don't really care they all look good except the pin stripe ones)

I usually look at kunzman.de but I haven't seen a walnut one either, not sure what other centre console will look in-place.

Not sure if you guys have seen, MB has made gloss wood trim available on the center console, so perhaps we can order it and place it on the E class.

I pesonally dislike glossy wood finishes they have so much laquer that they might as well be plastic.

I'm not sure, I think the 20s multispoke AMGs look the best and they maintain the exclusive/luxury look, but I think they might ruin the ride. might go for the 18 AMGs, but then they might ruin the exclusive/luxury look :(

Against the trend of matte, flat, and dark, but I like it. Sort of old school.
Settled for a P1 car a year ago. Sales guy called me (my 4 or 5th purchase from him) and said he has my colors in 2018 P2 package. The rest is history.

The new 2019's are just around the corner. Found a great deal on a car in dealer's lot.

Just picked this up from dealer inventory over the weekend. 2018 E4004W, Luxury Line, P1, natural grain brown ash, black on black. If I had ordered this I would have gone with burl walnut but otherwise this is close to ideal. First car with mbtex instead of leather, so far I'm not offended by it.

Turned in the C and picked up a new E300 sport...have to say this really is a nice car, only wish I would have been able to get the car with the factory 19" AMG wheels, so I could just add spacers and be done.
The 18's that came on it look ok with the dark package, but the 19's look so clean, and I want to be sure and do a wheel that does not cheapen the look of the car or the brand.
Decisions decisions? Love seeing some of the different cars and combinations here, some nice cars, congrats to all!
I need to do some paint work as I did with the C class, so I will post pics when it's done, but for now here are the pics before I picked it up from the Dealer.

Lowered this on the eBay lowering module. Worked great. Currently sitting at - 39mm Too bad my winter tires are still on with terrible offset. New rims this week!

Looks awesome. The -39mm are standard/as preset in the module right? Did you adjust the custom setting to a more lower setting?
I would just want to have a look at it how it would be with -60mm or something in park :).

For those who have lowered their cars, do you guys have problems with the front bumper scraping?

Mine is not even lowered and I hear the front scrape all the time. I cannot imagine what my wife would do to the front if it was lowered...okay, I need to be accountable too, I would probably trash the front too:)

Whut? How is that possible? I mean in standard mode the car is high enough to park in front of curbs.
So how is it possible to scrape the front?

I drove a lowered 3-series wagon before and it was almost impossible with it to get into a car park building. The additional front lip was broken multiple times, but with the e-class this wont happen.

I've scraped a couple of times leaving a local shopping center. I now avoid it by making sure to exit at an angle, not perpendicular to the street.

Hey, Love the ride. Please share wheel and tire specs. Im all about fitting the most aggressive wheel/ tire combo under a fender. Looks marvelous...
