In Canada, the Acoustic Comfort Package does not seem to be listed anywhere, not as standard equipment, nor as an option....
Is it available to Canadian destined E classes ?

Factory tint is not available with acoustic glass.
As well as rear window blinds arent available with tinted glass.

The MB website tends to be spotty on available options, always ask your dealer. One obvious example is the rear seat airbags, they are nowhere to be seen on the website but they are on the dealer's options list. I'm sure there are others too.

Th Acoustic Comfort Package is listed as an $1100 stand alone option on the MBUSA website, for the E 213, but there is no option code to order it...
Does anyone know the order code ?

Get the order codes from the Dealers Ordering Guide posted elsewhere on this site.

I have dealer installed tint on my PAF E300 w/ rear sunshade. No issues. I know you are asking specifically about factory tint, but FWIW aftermarket tint is compatible it seems

acoustic package/window blinds
Anyone with the Acoustic Comfort Package option, also have the rear window roll up blinds ?
Or is it one or the other, and you cannot have both ?

Earlier this year, Car and Driver magazine did a comparison test that included an E-class 4-door sedan equipped with the Acoustic Comfort package and they said the $1100 option was well worth it. When I order an E400 wagon, I'm going to order it with this option.

As far as I'm concerned, the acoustic comfort package and air suspension are essential to making this car a standout among its competition. Who cares if it raises the bottom price by 3%? This is not a Civic!!!!! Even in the EU where these are one of the favorite taxis, price is not a big factor given that they are "luxury taxis" there are plenty of VW taxis to choose from which don't compete with them.

I ordered my E300 with the PAF package, but also had LLumar ceramic window tint applied to the side and back windows. The PAF package adds no perceptible tinting to the windows so I had the Florida legal darkness applied to the front windows and a bit darker applied to the rear side and back windows. LLumar also makes a 'clear' tint that provides UV and infrared protection (I think it's called Air Blue). I had that applied to the sunroof glass.
On my 2014 E350 I had Air Blue applied to the windshield and it did a fantastic job of keeping heat out. The glass used for the PAF package works every bit as well as the LLumar Air Blue stuff. I can feel almost NO heat coming through the windshield from our Florida sun.
My recommendation would be to get the PAF package, but if you don't, check out LLumar's clear product for application to your windshield. It works well, and you can't tell there's a film on the glass (depending on your installer )

Some of us like the appearance of tinted windows, so yes, adding another film is for appearance. Sometimes duplicative is ok. My recommendation for the LLumar Air blue product was for those that didn't opt for the PAF package and wanted some protection for the windshield.

Film of any kind below the AS-1 line is illegal in Florida. Florida Statute 316.2952

Then by all means do not use the LLumar product on your windshield in Florida or any other state with such a regulation. The PAF option is well worth it for the heat rejection alone.
Unless.... someone construes the UV/Infrared layer of the windshield to be in violation of : (2) A person shall not operate any motor vehicle on any public highway, road, or street with any sign, sunscreening material, product, or covering attached to, or located in or upon, the windshield, except the following:

I'm in Clearwater and the police actively check for illegal window film. My barber was recently stopped at a safety checkpoint and was ticketed for front side windows tinted to 25%. The legal limit is 28%.

He had a brush with the law. He was a hair over legal. A close shave...

The police routinely setup randomly located roadblocks to check vehicles and drivers for anything and everything. The last one resulted in more than a hundred citations in a couple of hours. Most for DUI, suspended or expired license and/or tag and equipment violations (tires, tint, lights, etc.).
That wasn't a close shave. He was 12% over the limit. That's similar to driving 62 mph (100 kph) in a 55 mph (88 kph) zone.

If your barber had his front side windows tinted to 25% and legal limit is 28% its he under the legal limit?
Hope he did not pay the ticket he was handed.
Now that's what you call a close shave.

The percentage is for light transmission. The lower the number the darker the tint. At 25% the amount of light allowed through the window was inadequate. He had to have the tint removed and pay court costs.

I have 30% on the side which is legal. Any tint shop will go darker if you want. Never seen a checkpoint for this but probably not a big deal in my area. Knock on faded wood.
