Got the illuminated star fitted tonight, feel free to follow my instructions but please dont buy any chinese made crap,
buy the star unit and wiring harness from your dealer!

Star unit: A2138179800
Harness: A2058204400

Route the harness towards this box, lift the plastic cover above it for access.
Connect the ground connector to the ground point at the left front member ( follow the brown wires)

Push in the tabs and lift the front fusebox up, find the pink connector and loosen it downwards.
Drill a hole in the fuse box outer housing.

Route the cable through the hole and connect the crimped connector in the far left slot in the pink connector housing.

Reassemble and fit a 2 or 3A fuse in the new slot

Done, a 10-15 minute job!

Nice! The illuminated star can not be combined with distronic/drive pilot, right?

Correct, distronic, distronic plus or Drive Pilot where Distronic is included wont work.

E55 Wagon E400 Wagon
Vic Great build, car looks really good. I just took delivery of an E400 wagon here in the states. How did you actually lower the car. Can you adjust the drop links or do buy new aftermarket ones.
Cheers, Randy

Thanks!, I bought adjustable links but I havnt used them yet, I have calibrated the zero position of the system using Xentry Diagnosis.

Unfortunately that will only lower so much, links are needed if you want to go lower.

Finally got her out, still some adjusting work left, and a front window tint is a must.

Its bigger, a lot bigger and more quiet, also the new OM654 engine is great along with some really fancy tech.

I agree that the S205 has a sportier more agressive "younger" look, but the E is really growing on me. and its just two more years until 40

Still waiting for the gloss black night package trims for the air intakes.
How do you remove the side "air intakes" can it be done without removing the front bumper?

Thanks.

Titanium lug bolts originally made for Lamborghini

Winter is almost here, just finished mounting the new Winter tires to my stock wheels.
Dunlop Winter Sport 5
245 front and 275 rear.

Will miss the 20" winters I had on my 205, but I guess 19s will improve comfort after all.

Im going with 18's on aftermarket rims. I checked with my dealer and a set of winter rims and tires with stock mb rims was $4000! Absolutely nuts. I dont like to swap the tires so I keep two complete sets, one for summer and one for winter. Furtheremore using 20in low profile winter tires would just be dumb, not to mention, expensive. In the US, TireRack makes ordering a winter setup quick and painless. Total price 1600, mounting ready including TPMS.

There are decent after market rims as well, we use the Rial M10 on the W213 for most of our customers,
it comes in three finishes uses the new longer OE lug bolt and can fit the OE star in the hub.

The package from tire rack only offers Anzio Turns 18x8 for the E43.

They are pretty cheap but look fairly decent for winter duty.
Ill be shodding those with Contiwintercontact TS 830 runflats. I think that should serve me well through our long, cold and snowy Wisconsin winter. They are not as winter worthy as Michelin Alpins 3 but they are V rated and should be significantly better on dry conditions. Im surprised that Michelin now only offers the pilot alpins only as limited edition tires for Porsche. I used to have a set for my Acura and they were excellent.
