What tire brand did you get on your 2017 E400?

Just noticed that my 2017 E400 sedan with 18" AMG 5-Spoke Wheels upgrade came with GOODYEAR tires!!! GOODYEAR!!! Should the factory be at least Continental? Please check your tires and let us know.

Mine came with 19" Good Year tires as well.

Goodyear Eagle Sport ROF

My E300 also came with Goodyear. At first I was disappointed since Goodyear doesn't have the same brand cachet as Pirelli and others. However I believe they are German made and the car rides very well in my opinion.

What wrong with GoodYear?

Over here new Mercs are delivered with Hankook and Yokohama besides the premium brands Michelin, Conti, Pirelli, Bridgestone and Dunlop

Tiburonsteve 06-11-2017 09:14 AM

In the US Goodyear just doesn't have the brand image of Michelin Pirelli and other European brands maybe because it's an American company. Personally I like Michelin. Don't care for Continental, which have come with the other six Mercedes I've bought. Bad luck with short life span, poor handling and even blowouts. As soon as they need replacing I switch to Michelin.

Goodyear tires have a reputation for lasting only a good year.
My purchase contract for a '18 E300 specifically requires Pirelli tires.
If the car comes with some other brand the dealer will replace them at no cost.

Tires

Hope you're wrong about these Goodyears. Time will tell. I wondered if you could specify the brand of tires so you've answered my question--at least with your dealer. Next purchase I'll give it a try.

The 19inch rims with the conti are night and day difference between the 18inch with the goodyear. Better ride and handling. The sidewall doesn't roll in corners. I wish I knew this before I got my car. and it also looks 10times better!!!

Mine came with Michelin Primacy 3 - 19" rim

Thank you for all your replies...good to know that at least I am not the only one that got Goodyear, and here's to hope that they will last more than one Good year. Anybody have any idea how much is a set of the 19" AMG with tires would cost from Mercedes? My Sales guy seems to say they have to go through the parts dept and there are none at this time.

If you order a new car, or even if you are considering a new one sitting on a dealer's lot, if changing out the tires is what will close the deal, it has been my experience that most dealers are willing to do a tire swap.

Just putting out feelers...Anybody around Toronto willing to trade their 19" wheels ($ 1,000 upgrade) for my 18" AMG 5-Spoke Wheels ($ 500 upgrade) for say $700? I have got less than 200 Km on the wheel as of now.

Sorry don't mean to hijack but do you have airmatic?

Cause I find even with 18s the ride can be unrefined around Toronto streets at least.

Love the look of both wheels, but sorry I have the 18s. I took several days to decide between the 2 myself. The 19s looks better, but the ride...

ccec 06-15-2017 12:33 PM

No airmatic... doing the trade just for the looks,.. you are right, the ride will suffer.

Go drive both cars with 18 good year and 19 conti's, you will notice the 19 has a much better ride even though its a bigger rim.

Mitch105 06-15-2017 04:39 PM

I have 18 inch Pirelli P7 without airmatic (wish I had it now)

the ride is meh.
