Anyone have a 2018 e43 yet?

i ordered a 2018 e43 that has been built and today landed in Baltimore. Should I expect it to be held in Baltimore for a long time or released right away? Anyone have a 2018 e43 already or still waiting for them to be officially released?

thx.

At most a few days of prep. You should have it in less than 2 weeks.

As far as I know all 2018 Es are still being held at the port with an ETA of mid month to be released. Not sure how that affects the E43.

c4004 - I see in your posting history that you already have an e43. Is it a 2017 or 2018? If it's a 2018 I can't wait to get mine. I "heard" that all 2018 e classes were being held also so I'm afraid I'm in the group.

I got lunar blue with nut brown interior and metal weave. It's a P3 with heated front and rear seats. I don't get the acoustic package nor the panoramic sunroof but am regretting the sunroof. Not sure if the acoustic package is a big deal or not.

Hopefully released this week and in my garage in 1-2 weeks!!

I have a 17. Once it got to the US it was quick delivery. Hoeever I hvae heard of models held at the processing site before. When the Avura RL hybrid was first introduced the cars never got off the lot. Im sure thats not the issue with the 43 given the car has already been around for mths and the 18 is not a new model.

E43

Just ordered on Saturday. Anxiously awaiting delivery info. Got the tech 2 package, large sunroof, acoustic package, black/night package, etc. did not get active multicontour seats. At least hoping the standard ones are similar in support, just without the massage function.

Good idea to get the quiet package its most definitely the best option you can get. I would recommend it on any E class. It makes a very noticeable difference in the overall ambience of the car making it fell more planted and solid in all conditions. The E class is by nature quiet but that extra noise isolation make the car feel that much more premium. You will love the car. The only negative comments come from couch critics that have never driven it.

If you get the active side bolsters with the multicontour seats, I still might consider them even if the massage feature doesn't appeal to you. I have that feature on my 2011 e550 and really like it. Regards. Ned.

Yes I assume that. I was just saying I really like the active side bolsters, which I think is worth paying for even if you don't want the massage feature that comes with it. Regards. Ned.

I had a test drive in a 2017E43 with the active multi contour seats. I enjoyed the support and manner in which the seats held me in-place, without consideration for the "poke/nudge" in the side each time I made a turn. I really did not need the active function, but clearly liked the architecture of the seats alone. Accordingly, that is all I want. So, I was asking whether the non-active multi contour seats still have the same level of comfort and support as the multi contour configuration, or are they in fact a completely different seat structure?

No worries the "standard" seat is awesome. The active ones just are a super duper version of awesomeness Its like the Burmester, the optional one is ultra excellent while the base one is "excellent".

I had an E43 without the seat massage option and now I have one with it... Well worth the cost!

My MB dealer emailed today saying they "expect" the E43s to be released by the end of the month.

2018 E43 Orders

Almost a month ago, my sales rep told me that my E43 is in Baltimore and they should have it at the dealer within a week. Now he's telling me no E43s have been released yet and there is no ETA for release.

Anyone have newer/different information on this? I wonder why they are holding the cars at the VPC?

I spoke to customer relations at MB HQ in Toronto about the delay on my two orders. They called me back yesterday telling me the retrofit parts for the air suspension were in for my car sitting at Halifax harbor. Car is being retrofitted today and finally shipped. They gave me an ETA Ottawa,ON Sept.5th.

The second car has been sitting in Germany for 7 weeks waiting for the air suspension retrofit and it was completed last week. They gave me Sept.11 ETA Halifax for that one. Assuming this happens, I can expect that car before the end of Sept. That's two months late but it looks like I will get the car.

MB has had shortages of wide screens, IDP (driver pilot)modules and now defective air suspensions. The first two are affecting dealer allocations for that equipment and the suspension has been the main culprit for cars built but held up either in Germany or at the VPC port of entry.

Perhaps I missed an earlier post, but what are the retrofit parts for the suspension?

I don't know. All they told me is that it was an air suspension part problem. Maybe it was a supplier problem like the wide screens and driver pilot. They did not elaborate.

The issue is now resolved.

2018 e43 yet?

Reached out to my NJ dealer to learn the status of my e43 order, which was placed two weeks ago. Informed me that the build was "accepted" by M-B ordering system and that we now have a purchase order. It's is noted in green in the system so I can still make changes if tempted! He was unsure when it will be "locked in". But now they are forecasting a build time in the first 10 days of December. Wow, I have never waited for a car like this. Better be worth it!

2018 e43
I ordered mine around the first week of July and was told I have a production date in October and I should receive the car by November. Ordered 2018 e43 polar white p3 panoramic sunroof multicontour seats night package bunch of other goodies, basically just didn't go for the upgraded stereo package.

My car must have been on the same boat as yours. Any word or update on the hold up in Baltimore?
