Will these fixes be implemented at the factory as well so the newer cars will not have these issues?

Yes, forgot this in my first post.

This is only valid in vehicles from production start up to production date 2016-08-15.

I am surprised these little things weren't picked up during the thousands of miles of testing.

Thing is, I have heard a slight rattle from the top dash from time to time in my own car and it is made Feb 2017

Will remove the cover once I get time and take a look on the "solution" from factory.

Seems like this generation of Mercedes are very prone to squeaks and rattles, which is not acceptable. I have never had such issues with my Mercedes until I got my W205. I hope MB would have sorted out these issues by the time my car gets built next year.

I got a brand new loaner couple weeks ago, I was the first one to drive it with a build of I believe march and it had the dash rattle. I couldn't believe it. that they did not resolve it since last year. Very unacceptable for this brand of a car.

had appointment this morning and , after they checked the problem, they advised they have to order the parts.

(of course i told them when i made the appointment it was a known problem, so parts could have been ordered already....)

But they tell me they have to keep the car for a whole day, cos they need to take whole dash apart??????

in Sweden maybe.. but this Marseille :-)

seriously; is there a "case number" for this problem, so I can give it to
the dealer and they can see it's just a small job..?

otherwise I will have to pay for a loaner for the day (please no comments regarding this )

My 2014 CLA had to go in 3 times to fix dash rattles, especially the center mounted monitor. And prior to getting rid of my 2016 C450 rattles started to develop just behind the instrument panel. Mercedes dashboards now consist of so many different components to create that signature "flowing look" -- there are bound to be some annoying contact squeaks. I loved the old solid looking dashes of the W140s.

These problems should have been picked up during the design and testing phase and fixed before the car is released for production. Surely after hundreds of thousands of miles of testing these rattles and squeaks would have become very noticeable.

Mine had it. Along with driver door rattles and creaks and now, with 22,000 miles on the clock, the entire centre console and especially the centre glove box/cubby box is creaking (and one lid doesn't shut well now too). And the driver's seat frame and plastic rear panel were replaced to stop seat creaking. Not impressed at all, the w212 facelift I had was solid as granite. W213 looks great, but is far more fragile.

I've been driving a demonstrator E300 w/P2 courtesy of my dealer. It has no rattles, creaks or groans unlike me.

I'm not jealous. Honestly. Not all. Not one little bit. You'll not hear a squeak out of me. Unlike my car grrrrr!

It's a very early build, delivered April last year, guess they were still reading the instructions and had some screws left over at the end

That is reassuring to know, given how bad roads in Australia can get. Hopefully my w213 will be rattle free..unlike my w205.
