No staggered tires on my 2018 E400 coupe with AMG

Why does my 2018 E400 coupe with AMG package and 19 inch wheels not have staggered tires?

Staggered setups suck. For a car used on public roads, all it does is promote understeer. Car manufactures nowadays think most people can't recover from oversteer, hence that set up.

Plus the added disadvantage of not being able to rotate the tires.

Staggered tires are part of the 19" wheel option for $3,000.
What is shown on the Munroney sticker?
What tire sizes do you have?
Tire sizes I've seen on the coupe are:
245/45R18 at all four corners,
235/40R18 front and 255/35R18 rear,
235/35R19 front and 255/30R19 rear.

Just checked the two E sport coupes in our showroom, both of them have staggered 19" wheels.

EDIT: the SA code for 19" sport wheels is "RTE" - "AMG 19" double-spoke wheels with mixed tires"

Just found out it depends upon the tires delivered with the vehicle...if it comes with R01 high performance tires, they are staggered...if it comes with R02 All Season Tires, they are all the same...thanks for checking!

sorry to correct you but staggerig does not make a car under or oversteet or understeer. On an AWD vehicle it is mainly cosmetic. The reason in a RWD car is to have a contact patch that is wider and thus increase overall traction where the torque is applied. In FWD drag racing the fat tires go in the front!

I agree with you that it doesn't matter on an AWD vehicle. I do recall Pontiac had a FWD Grand Prix GXP with the wider setup up front. And yes, AWD, FWD or RWD it's for cosmetic purposes.

I'm still a BMWCCA member, and we have monthly SCCA autocross every month. Pretty much every car there with a stock staggered setup has converted to a equal-width setup. Turn-in is much more direct. Beyond that, you're looking at tire pressure and using camber plates.

On road courses you want them all fat 😀 the issue is that there is only so much space for steering angle in a stock body.
