Anyone have 19 inch Wheels?

My salesman said they come with summer tired but the ordering guide says they come with 245//40 x 19 all season run flats. I like the look but I only want them if they come with all season tires. So, which is it?

Also, is the noise any greater vs 18 inch tires?

If they're staggered, they have summer tires.

They are not staggered, but my salesman says regardless of whether they are summer tires or all reason, the ride is rough, they are noisier and they wear out very quickly when compared to 18" tires, so he does not recommend the 19" ones.

Read this thread.

General rules: high performance tires are noisier than others; the lower the profile the harsher the ride.

I'd agree with your salesman. I've got 19 inch staggered wheels and whilst they look great they do degrade the ride and handling, the run flats are noisy and mine wore out way faster then expected given the type of mileage I do. I'll avoid run flats like the plague in future and try to stick with smaller wheels.

I have 19s on mine and they are not staggered, and I believe they are not summer. I did not test drive the 18s, but I am satisfied with the noise level and comfort of my car. There is a possibility that it would be better with the 18 and maybe I am in the dark, but I am completely fine with my car. I have 10K miles on my car now and tread still looks good. Came with Contis

I have the 19s on my E300 - they are all season Goodyear run flats. The ride is definitely firm but I do not think they are excessively noisy. Long Islander, I think you'd be wise to go with the 18s. In my NYC days, I recall the factory 20s on my Infiniti - they got trashed by the roads on a regular basis and the ride was terrible. Here in the South, the ride on the 19s is a bit firm, but our roads are in much better condition, so it is not objectionable.

I have the same non-staggered 19" Goodyear all season run flats. I do very little big city driving, and find the ride "mildly" firmer than my 2014 E350 on staggered 18" Continentals (not run flat).
I don't notice any additional road noise from the 19" tires. Tread pattern, summer vs. all season, and perhaps MB improvements can contribute to this. The car is quiet. Can't speak yet about durability. I think it comes down to personal preference.

19"

However, with 19", there is more rubber on the road, less sidewall flex, so your cornering, braking, wet weather traction is enhanced......
There are definite trade offs between 18 and 19.......

My E 43 is equipped with 20 in summer Pirellis. To my surprise the tires are excellent in all respects. The ride is firm but not uncomfortable and you can only tell they are not regular tires on sharp broken holes. They also stick like glue on dry and wet pavement. Tread noise is nil. Of course the ride is a little busier than a 300 with a comfort suspension and 18's but not objectionably so. Listed treadwear is 300 which is excellent for a tire in this category and as good as some all season tires. I must say Pirelli has done an extraordinary job with its runflats for this car.

I have 19s with Goodyear tyres that are run flats . The ride is very compliant with these tyres.
I have had the original run flats on a BMW 1 series the ones the engineers used to call “wooden wheels” - now that was a hard ride. These are now like heaven.
