Hello
As I have explained, we have internal process to deal with the order, we hardly make a mistake like you order 2017 version but we send 2018 version.
The goods you get is correct one, it has mark on the packing box, just it is ripped off by shipping agent, but it is correct one, please install it, any questions you can post here.

My advice to you is to be more helpful. A lot of people on this board will buy this product. But we are all waiting to see how it goes for this guy.

Why can't you post a document with detailed install instructions for him?

Exactly. All I want to know is what serial numbers on my unit prove its a 2018 module so I don't waste time paying for an install. That and CLEAR install instructions for my SPECIFIC car would be nice....since there was no box, instructions or any documentation.

Hello, most of our products has installation instructions on our website, in the product page, there's link to the installation manual, here is the instructions.
http://www.gzcarphone.com/installati...ry-tweeter_n24
And the things is many client in USA buy our speaker, they do the installation by themselves, because it is easy, for my staff only takes 15 minutes to do the installation. Just open the door panel and follow below picture to do the cable connection that's all.

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5e8a1b16a1.png
Since the sticker on the packing box is already gone, so we don't know how to explain to you that is 2018 version, we can only guarantee that it is 2018 version.

So you don't put product number stickers on the control box? Because it has one. Wouldn't that identify the unit specific to certain model years?

And yeah I clicked on those instructions, no where does it say what to do with the added control box like where I'm supposed to mount it so the door panel will reinstall correctly. Nowhere does it say the proper way to mount the new speaker, screw torque settings, wire routing, nothing. Of course I can install it. But If I pay a shop $100 to do it and they end up frying my radio, ECU, lighting, etc guess what, it's on them. You need some serious help in selling a retail product.

Yeah i agree with you, that sounds dodgy. Even if they randomly open it, they wouldn't throw out the packaging i would think.

Hi mickhoog & NFAREVIEW I had the Rotary Tweeters installed last November 2017
and they are still working very well.
All of the information you need is in this forum or just google them.
If you think it would be best to get a audio expert to install them like i did
for only a hundred bucks all you worries would be over.
I did buy the from Carphone and they look really great and i am very happy i put them in my car.https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...8fcc08952b.jpg

Is this speaker a genuine burmester tweeter or is it a Chinese imitation of the burmester speaker?

I meant imitation clearly!

My point is is this a sound upgrade or a cosmetic upgrade?

wassup61 02-02-2018 08:31 AM

My guess is these are chinese knockoffs that are not licensed and contain no Harman hardware... Strictly cosmetic, not MB OEM

The tweeter is an important part of a sound system. I already have the non-3D burmester in my E63 so it wouldn't make sense to downgrade that to a no-name chinese E63,

@vicviper Do you know if it is possible to order the actual Burmester 3D tweeters and retrofit those on a car with the lower level Burmester system?

YOU already have the non-3D burmester in your car.!
Where did you get it from and what country was it made in?

ua549 02-02-2018 05:54 PM

Burmester Audio systems are had crafted in Berlin according to company info.

Gee, where did you get that idea? Funny quote. You had me laughing.
Another post mentioned Harmon. I don’t think Bermester is part of Harmon I tl, which by the way is now part of Samsung.

Hey y’all! I agree they can do a better job including instructions in the box with better details. I purchased mine from the same people and installed it myself after asking, they email me instructions.. However it didn’t give much details but a few pics just like what was posted on this thread. However what I can definitely for sure attest for is the fact that the product work really well. It is louder and clearer than the original tweeter that comes with the car. Mine is a 2017 E300 with the standards Burmester system. I installed the tweeters in October 2017 and it still works just fine. Don’t know if it’s the original tweeter or a chinease knock off but even if it’s a chniese knock off, they damn sure did a great job. I would recommend it. Here are some pics...

I hope you know that all the parts in your car are not made in Germany but made under license for Benz from around the world.
i am sure you look at you clock every day, do you know which country it is from?
I do not care where its from as long as it works well and has a good standard of workmanship to it.
If it worked out to be no good i would just put it in the bin and put the old ones back on.
Hope you get the part number for actual Burmester 3D tweeters and retrofit them to your car.
I have an idea for you go to the nearest Mercedes Benz dealership order a set of actual Burmester 3D tweeters today book in it for the replacement of old ones and Bob's your uncle.
We all get to see the pics next week and have a good look at them.

Update: Had them installed today at my local car audio shop

The drivers side didn't work fully at first (rotating) but then it started working. They look and sound good but I DO NOT like the transition of colors in the Multi-Color Ambient Light option that the 2018's have. Instead of a nice gradual switch in colors when the switch happens from top panels to lower panels and back, it just pops to the next color, its distracting...it kills the mood...BAD.

For those unfamiliar with the 2018's I'll try to give an example. Red Moon is my wife's favorite setting. It divides the LED's into red and blue areas of the car and dash and it slowly switches the colors and when it does whatever that color makes when mixed is what everything turns to until they switch. So red and blue make purple right? Well now instead of a smooth flow of red to blue to purple and back again you have the tweeter in your field of view just hard switching to the next color like a freaking flashing Christmas tree light! So now she has to resort to just going back to the 2017 option of a single cabin color. Does anyone else have a 2018 with this? Does it switch smooth or hard cut to the next color? Or did they send me the wrong non 2018 unit?

Here it was easier to go out and film this real quick so you understand what I mean...

I currently have a 2018 P3 E43 and I am planning to install those, but the seller still didn't reply to my email asking about the price and whether those tweeters are gonna include the "S" logo on them or will I get the blank ones just like in the pictures of his instructions. Once I install them, I'll definitely let you know if the colors will switch softly in the multi-color mode :y

MichaelRDavis 02-12-2018 02:49 AM

I got two plain covers and two with S. I then fitted the ones I wanted.

Its the Chinese New Year so don't expect a response till end of Feb. They take two weeks off. The speakers sound good and come with the logo. My only issue is the lighting as shown in this video I set to unlisted.

Did you do your mid-range speakers as well or do they come that way? I'm gonna pull the trigger on those tweeters though...that looks great!
