It only takes around 15-20 minutes for our staffs to install this... |

I just wanted everyone to know that the item you get is not as described. He stated above that it comes in retail packaging and yet this is how mine came. No box, no instructions, no indication on which speaker is for which door. Nothing. Hopefully these work as I'll be paying a radio shop to install them and don't want to get screwed out of that money too.

We sent the complete new goods with retail box, just check with our shipping agent, he said DHL inspect the goods randomly of each container and this time unfortunately your goods is checked by them and after inspection they did not put the goods back to box, just use their DHL bag to pack it. Sorry about that, this is also the first time we encounter this, all members in this forum bought from us know that they never receive goods from us without a packing box.

I've yet to install it. I still haven't heard from the seller on how to confirm I was sent the correct 2018 control unit nor was there any install instructions included on what connectors to connect and which ones to leave unconnected.
As I have explained, we have internal process to deal with the order, we hardly make a mistake like you order 2017 version but we send 2018 version. The goods you get is correct one, it has mark on the packing box, just it is ripped off by shipping agent, but it is correct one, please install it, any questions you can post here. |

Exactly. All I want to know is what serial numbers on my unit prove its a 2018 module so I don't waste time paying for an install. That and CLEAR install instructions for my SPECIFIC car would be nice....since there was no box, instructions or any documentation.
http://www.gzcarphone.com/installati...ry-tweeter_n24 And the things is many client in USA buy our speaker, they do the installation by themselves, because it is easy, for my staff only takes 15 minutes to do the installation. Just open the door panel and follow below picture to do the cable connection that's all. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5e8a1b16a1.png Since the sticker on the packing box is already gone, so we don't know how to explain to you that is 2018 version, we can only guarantee that it is 2018 version. |

And yeah I clicked on those instructions, no where does it say what to do with the added control box like where I'm supposed to mount it so the door panel will reinstall correctly. Nowhere does it say the proper way to mount the new speaker, screw torque settings, wire routing, nothing. Of course I can install it. But If I pay a shop $100 to do it and they end up frying my radio, ECU, lighting, etc guess what, it's on them. You need some serious help in selling a retail product. |

Hi mickhoog & NFAREVIEW I had the Rotary Tweeters installed last November 2017
and they are still working very well. All of the information you need is in this forum or just google them. If you think it would be best to get a audio expert to install them like i did for only a hundred bucks all you worries would be over. I did buy the from Carphone and they look really great and i am very happy i put them in my car.https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...8fcc08952b.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...a5962c96e8.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...f085334727.jpg |

My guess is these are chinese knockoffs that are not licensed and contain no Harman hardware... Strictly cosmetic, not MB OEM

@vicviper Do you know if it is possible to order the actual Burmester 3D tweeters and retrofit those on a car with the lower level Burmester system? |

Another post mentioned Harmon. I don’t think Bermester is part of Harmon I tl, which by the way is now part of Samsung. |

I agree they can do a better job including instructions in the box with better details. I purchased mine from the same people and installed it myself after asking, they email me instructions.. However it didn’t give much details but a few pics just like what was posted on this thread. However what I can definitely for sure attest for is the fact that the product work really well. It is louder and clearer than the original tweeter that comes with the car. Mine is a 2017 E300 with the standards Burmester system. I installed the tweeters in October 2017 and it still works just fine. Don’t know if it’s the original tweeter or a chinease knock off but even if it’s a chniese knock off, they damn sure did a great job. I would recommend it. Here are some pics... |

I do not care where its from as long as it works well and has a good standard of workmanship to it. If it worked out to be no good i would just put it in the bin and put the old ones back on. Hope you get the part number for actual Burmester 3D tweeters and retrofit them to your car. I have an idea for you go to the nearest Mercedes Benz dealership order a set of actual Burmester 3D tweeters today book in it for the replacement of old ones and Bob's your uncle. We all get to see the pics next week and have a good look at them. Happy Driving.......... stealth.pilot God of the Autobahn |
Update: Had them installed today at my local car audio shop
The drivers side didn't work fully at first (rotating) but then it started working. They look and sound good but I DO NOT like the transition of colors in the Multi-Color Ambient Light option that the 2018's have. Instead of a nice gradual switch in colors when the switch happens from top panels to lower panels and back, it just pops to the next color, its distracting...it kills the mood...BAD. For those unfamiliar with the 2018's I'll try to give an example. Red Moon is my wife's favorite setting. It divides the LED's into red and blue areas of the car and dash and it slowly switches the colors and when it does whatever that color makes when mixed is what everything turns to until they switch. So red and blue make purple right? Well now instead of a smooth flow of red to blue to purple and back again you have the tweeter in your field of view just hard switching to the next color like a freaking flashing Christmas tree light! So now she has to resort to just going back to the 2017 option of a single cabin color. Does anyone else have a 2018 with this? Does it switch smooth or hard cut to the next color? Or did they send me the wrong non 2018 unit? |

Having watched NFAREVIEW's video above, I don't understand why anyone would order these in a 2018 car without the seller's confirmation that it will work properly with multi colour and clarification as to why the above did not work properly.
Otherwise it's potentially 500 bucks to buy and install these, the installation costs of which one will never recoup, and I for one couldn't live with that limitation. |

Won’t adding a Chinese Burmester tweeter affect sound quality? Throw the whole system off? |

To be honest, it looks more authentic than the Chinese tweeters sold here. :)

I avoid the issue by not knowingly buying stuff shipped directly from China. If I want something Chinese, I buy it through a US distributer such as Amazon.

It is what it is... try and accept the short comings... if they work, they do look cool.
|
I have yet to receive a follow up email from carphone on why it doesn't work properly with the 2018 lighting options....they lied to get a sale.
|
Considering even MBUSA can't get the 2018 interior lighting to work consistently, I'm not surprised a Chinese knock-off product is having trouble with it.
|
I’m getting mine installed tomorrow. I’ll let you guys know if the audio shop that is installing them managed to get it to work with the multi-color. |

Throwing the original box/packing away by customs is BS. I wouldn’t be happy about that. |
Update: Got them installed today. The multi-color feature doesn't work for me too :/. It's okay for me since I rarely use the multi-color feature. The original box being thrown away by customs is a lie, I got mine in a white foam box without instructions too.

Sorry to explain everything late. About the product, we are 100% sure our product can fit both 2015-2017 W213 and 2018 W213. We already fix the ambient light color issue in Nov. 2017 since new E Class just came out, as we have cooperated with many Mercedes dealers in different countries, we can get feedback from dealer soon and solve the problem, if the problem is not solved, we will not sold our product. Before ordering, please check below E Class ambient light menu picture, it is very important. The first picture is the ambient light menu for 2015-2017 E Class, second picture is the 2018 E Class. You can judge the E Class is old version or new version by this. Because some E Class is produced in 2017 year, but it is 2018 version, some E Class is produced in 2018 year, but it is 2017 version. Depends on the market, different market new version E Class come out time is different. Before you order, we will confirm with you your car is 2017 version or 2018 version then we will send the correct goods to you, if 2017 products install in 2018 car, the ambient light will have problem. So before you order, please tell us your car production year and which version of your car. There a defective rate of our product, but it is low, if you are receiving a defective goods, please send it back for replacement within 1 month after you receive goods. About the packing issue, all of the products we sell is with a retail packing, we are not a small retailing shop collecting everything from different corners then put it together to ship, we are a professional manufacturer for luxury car electronics, everything is produced under ISO and TS16949 standard. We have strict IQC, IPQC, OQC process and have record of each process of our production. More about our company introduction, please check below link for reference: http://www.gzcarphone.com/about-us_d1 It is not possible we send the goods without a retail box, but if custom or DHL check the goods and drop the box, it is out of our control, if you are receiving a broken goods caused by shipping, you can ask a compensation from DHL, we will help that. About S logo, every package will come with a set of S logo, it is up to you to install it or not. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5170d8acca.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...0aa3178158.jpg Packing https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...99ce47fd51.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...0dfeb0c39e.jpg |
Figured I could lend my experience.
Emailed gzcarphone a few weeks back. They claimed that the people who received units that didn't work properly in their 2018's didn't request the 2018 models (or received the wrong ones), and promised that they have a unit that works with the 2018's (just like the post above does). I even got a little excited because when I got the package, it was in a full retail box with "2018" listed on the sticker on the box. Alas, one of the wires coming from the control box said "2017 E class" so I tampered my expectations. Here are a few photos of the shipment that I received: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...086b92f50b.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c5d5eaf790.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c5df745415.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...3e38dce9c8.jpg Cliff notes: It does not work with the multi-color animation as claimed by gzcarphone. I received a box in full retail getup, with "2018" sticker on it, and after EXPLICITLY telling gzcarphone that I had a 2018 and having them CONFIRM that they would send the right part. And of course... the LED colors "jump" from color to color when multi-color animation is activated. *sigh* Perhaps there's a language barrier? Technically, they "work" with "multi-color", just not the "animation" aspect. Truthfully I wasn't too concerned as I don't use the multi-color option (or at least, the multi-color "animation" option. I find it distracting), but if anyone is on the fence or actually believes they'll get a version that works with their 2018 "multi-color animation" option, perhaps you should think again. |
I have contacted the seller about the multi-color problem and he have tried helping me to get it to work. I couldn't fix it so he sent me this email:
"I understand what you meant. Firstly I want to confirm to you the one you receive from us is 2018 version, not 2017 version, otherwise the light will be not turnning on. Secondly about the animation color changing, till now, this is already best we can do, because as you know our product is aftermarket product not OEM, we have to decode the canbus data from the car then make the code into our control box, this animation changing code we can not do so far. But what I think is like this: 1, you are not changing the color all the time, it is hardly can notice this difference, to be honestly, we are selling around 500sets each month in Korea and Japan market same product as we send to you, but we do get complaint same as this issue. 2, The color is just same as original ambient light. 3, The most important thing is that it improve the sound quality in the car. Many clients feedback to us they think the sound quality is better than the original Burmester tweeter, they like it very much. I know there are 2 other manufacturers making same products as us, but I promise you will never find another suppliers' goods quality is better than ours." I guess we would have to wait for a new version that would support the multi-color feature. |

I emailed carphone last night to initiate the return process, will update and let you all know how simple the process is. If they don't get back to me in a few days, I'll start a complaint with PayPal.
I made an impulse buy for these the other day, and they arrive on Thursday. Not sure whether I'll use them or not, but since I was going back to the OEM tweeters I wanted to give myself an option to spruce up their look. These were the best looking "covers" on ebay (there are several styles from other sellers). |

Just had mine installed, from GZcarphone, cost about 90.00 in labor, but well worth it. They look great, not sure yet how much they improve the front soundstage, but I have yet to really test them out.
On a related note, has anyone noticed how the midrange speaker covers could double as cheese graters, yikes! |
