Sounds about right. The hybrid part of these cars is at best classified as mild. I would not expect it to resemble a Prius in any appreciable way. You might get some electric only action around a parking lot under full charge but that's about it. In almost every other instance the gas engine will be running, the batteries will simply be adding some additional torque. The display will show you how much boost the electric motor is providing.

Thanks, i was expecting better economy though.... I thought it would power the car at 70 mph for a spell, especially downhill. I done a similar mixed run in my 350 today and got 39.9 mpg. This was due to gentle starts and gradual speed build up similar to the way I was driving the hybrid. Still wondering if the Hybrid is performing correctly.

The hybrid sytem will not improve your hwy milage significantly. Most of the overall improvement is from city driving where the extra torque comes into play. Offhand I dont know the ratings of the E hybrid, but the number I would pay the most attention to is the avg mpg. The hybrid should get around 5 mpg better on avg than the non hybrid version.
