Warranty Question Regarding Wood & Exterior Paint
Hey all,
So I have a question regarding warranty and what is covered. Ive had my E300 for 11 months now and I noticed the wood trim in the car is chipping/the paint is wearing out (ill attach a picture). This I just noticed the other day when I got in my car.
Also, there is a chip on the front bumper that I think is fairly big. (I will attach a photo of it later). I think MB warranty covers paint defects for up to 1 year if I'm correct.
If I were to bring it to the dealership, would i be able to get both parts fixed under warranty? I plan on bringing it in for Service A in about 2 weeks.

Paint chip in the front bumper, likely not because that can be caused by any damage, such as rock chips. Its hard to prove a paint defect exists.
As for the wood trim, they can also argue that you damaged the wood somehow but they might do it under good will, especially if you show there has been no dent in the wood.

It will all depend on the causes of these problems. In my experience, Mercedes will remedy anything they have caused to occur. Under normal use, the wood chipping and paint wearing out should not happen. I doubt that the front bumper paint chip will be fixed under warranty.

So this is the exterior paint thing I am concerned about. It is a close up because the total size is about the size of a quarter, but its hard to see from far away because the black chip is not big, but the surrounding damage is (which I think resulted from the black chip but who knows).
Also I did not hit anything and from my knowledge no one has hit me. Also I am worried that if this spreads I can have issued when I return the car in 3 years when the lease is up (did a 4 year lease).
Thoughts?
On a side note - sorry its so dirty, I have final exams and haven't had time to wash my car.

look at those gaps around the vents, tell them about that if they refuse the color damage, those gaps shouldnt be there. my car has bigger gaps and they should replace it for you.
