Backup sensors on 2016 E350
Hi,
I am new to this board. It is only my second post. Also new to MB as a convert from BMW. Great vehicle. Outshines the BMW for comfort.
Every BMW and even Fords that I have had since '08 have backup sensors that beep faster and faster with proximity to obstacles.
So today, I am backing up, only have had the car a month, and I backed it right into a fence post. Really upset with myself.
The vehicle has every sensor totally optioned out ,including the 993 lane tracking package, attention assist ,collision prevention, and ,assist plus.
BUT It does Not Have Backup sensors in conjunction with the camera
Does anyone know how to add this feature.

Are you sure about that?
my problem with the backup sensor is that the warnig sound is not loud at all
could it be you didn't hear it? (I hit a car while parking on the 2nd day I had mine, due to this)

As mentioned, 2016 = W212. Premium package has rear view camera (code 218), Parking Assist Package adds Parktronic (220). What does your data card show enter VIN here: https://www.datamb.com/

I have a 2015 E350 with Parktronic and the 360 cameras, and yes, it does have sensors which beep slowly, then get faster as you get closer, until eventually they beep continuously when you're within 12" of an object, with there being separate beepers up front & back, so if you're backing up and closing in on an object, you'll hear the beeping from behind you. Also, on the W212, if you have this feature, there will be a black plastic sliver sticking up on the middle of the dash, with a matching one above the rear seat.
CAVEAT: These sensors can only sense what is in front of them. If a post is dead center between two sensors and you're close enough, they're not going to be able to detect it, no matter which manufacturer makes the system. These systems are nice, but are no substitute for manually turning your body and head and looking behind when backing.
