heated steering wheel cover

we have heated seats but not the wheel (just got P1), are there any decent aftermarket covers to use during these cold days? thank you!

Yes, they are called gloves.

ha! I take it from this and my own research that all of the aftermarket solutions are quite lousy.

It's not just the steering wheel. You require the little arm to turn it on. I have the same problem. The E43 comes with the square steering wheel and heated steering is not available on that model. I've opted for the gloves in matching leather.

The issue is how to make such a device? Cant really wire something to a device that turns, unless it has batteries or it came with an ugly circular contact outside the steering column. I vote for gloves too!

As of yet "AMG" doesn't offer any heated steering wheels :(

I was thinking of those ugly ones with batteries, and hoping perhaps that the technology got better since I last looked at them 10+ years ago... seems not! oh well. I had a heated steering wheel on my BMW 435icv and always thought it was pretty useless, but my wife tells me the wheel in the E300 is very cold in the mornings so figured I'd look into it.

Though it is no consolation to those who already have the car without a heated steering wheel (an option that is unfortunately not available on the optional wood and leather steering wheel), for anyone considering an order for a new W213, the OEM heated steering wheel works quickly and is welcome in cold weather, particularly for the trip home after the car has spent the day in an unheated garage at work.
