Followed them to a T. They didn't install correctly even after that.

Have you got your new expensive ($50/piece) AMG pins? And how do they fit?

Just pulled the black pins out of a 2019 E300 (not mine). They twist off. And to reinstall, they twist back on to your desired height. I got them to go back on and stay snug enough to not yank off which to me is well sufficient. Just cover the black pins with painters tape so that you can twist them off with flyers without chewing them up too badly They are quite soft plastic so expect to more or less chew them up a bit even with tape when you take them off, Im sure replacements are less than $5 / piece anyway.

Now, I didn't attempt to install the 2-piece aluminum piece onto this car because I dont want to get them stuck since its not my car. I am just confirming the removal process of the factory black pins.

Later this week when I install the OEM 2-piece onto my 2018 I will follow up with updates on that. Until then, if anyone has any more input on the installation that would be great.

Just got the aluminum ones in all 4 doors in under 10 minutes. Just have to line up the tab of the lock rod and the tab inside the white plastic insert so they go down enough. They sit even and no one will be yanking on these when locked anyway. Overall I'm pleased. In a perfect world I would pull each door panel and locktite each one on so they are super tight, but I'm happy for the quick swap and much prefer these over the AMG sold ones that are way more expensive and not ideal for a non-AMG model (like my E300).
