Will the iPhone XS Plus fit in the wireless charging area?

Sackboy will an XS Max fit on the Pad and charge? The concierge said he thinks it will but without a case. I’ve always been a case guy like RBRY but maybe I’ll give The AppleCare strategy a roll. Have an XS max on order for next week too. My 6 Plus -yes my phone is that old- still looks brand new thanks to the otter box.

He had posted earlier that the iPhone Xs Max will hot lay flat on the charting pad. My iPhone X in a case, just barely fits, so I know the Max won't for sure. And he took a cardboard cutout with him to test it in a E and it did not fit the pad. The first of two cases I ordered for my Max arrived yesterday and the 2nd one arrives tomorrow. I'm just not personally concerned about the phone charging by the pad. The only time I have mine in that area is if connected to use Apple CarPlay. When plugged for CarPlay it will be charging anyway.
I have the the car..... Friday I’ll have the XS MAX and will report back if it works or not.

Got my XS Max today and tried it in my 2019 E450 Cabriolet.... the phone fits PERFECTLY and charges just fine.
However if if you have a cable connected for CarPlay and use the charging bay as storage, the phone will stick up a little because of the connected cable.

But it it should charge even if the NFC triggers. Just tried it and mine still charges even when asking for Apple Pay

Turn off NFC in your System Settings. NFC pairing isn't anything you really need on your car for iPhone. Before I figured out I could turn off NFC, my iPhone X still charged however.

They must have made the charging mat area bigger in the 2019. I got my XS Max yesterday and it won't fit the mat in my 2018.

according to my SA, yes they did make it an inch or so longer to accommodate bigger phones

That's good to know. Thanks. It's possible I may be taking the E450 I had originally ordered, which will arrive in late October. If we do that, my partner will take my E400 and we'll trade the E300 in. It all depends on the hit we'll take, but the E450 I ordered has EVERYTHING I originally wanted.

After reporting that the XS fits perfectly in a 2019 E450 Cab, want to make sure it’s known I do not use a case on my phone. So be careful as I’ve not tried it with the small amount of size that a case will add.

Still larger is nice. I kept my (now departed) iPhone X in a case and it barely fit the E400. iPhone Xs Max does not fit the E400 at all.

It's actually called iPhone XS Max and NO, it will not lay flat in the charging mat. I currently have iPhone X in a slim case and it barely fits, but it does fit. I can assure you the XS Max, will not. When I plug it in to use Apple CarPlay, it doesn't fit at all. I'm still getting the XS Max regardless. I'm not letting the built in charging mat determine the size phone I can use.
Also, note 9 is bigger than XsMax right, I believe Benz would design keeping that phone in mind too.

XS Max does not lay flat on E300 charging mat, but it does charge without an issue.
Phone is in the slim Otterbox, and the end closest to me sticks up a bit, but it is a workable setup.

I had trouble getting mine to charge last night...it was intermittent and generally disabled itself.

Just got my E450 Sedan today and am delighted to say they made the charging mat larger. My iPhone Xs Max WITH a case fits just fine on the charging mat! Woo Hoo!

An update in the Samsung Galaxy S9+...
If the phone is inserted into the charging pad face up AND with the charging and headphone Jack's facing inwards, then it charges!

One more update:
On my S9+, sometimes the charging stops. For a long while, I couldn't figure out why. Last night, I spent some time investigating the charging pad area. It turns out that the dimensions are not consistent. If I place the phone towards the left of the pad, it doesn't really sit flush and sits slightly above the pad. It still gets a charge but it sometimes messages me that it isn't able to. However, if I place the phone towards the rightmost part of the pad, it "slots" into the area much better and maintains a charge consistently.
So, with larger phones, don't just drop them in there. Instead, ensure that you are seating them all the way to the right and it should offer better results. Cheers.

I'll give this a go as my phone (Google Pixel 3 XL) doesn't sit flat either. It seems to be a bit too tall but I haven't tried moving it from left to right in the tray to see if it makes a difference.

Has anyone had any luck finding a replacement charger that fits the larger phones like an iPhone Pro Max? I’m not that worried about the wireless charging but it would be nice to have a space that the phone fits.

Is it the width or the length that's the problem? If the latter, then might it be possible to cut/shave off the lip of the charging area, the lip that appears to help keep the phone in place?
