Favorite Ambient Color Setting
Hi all,
As I continue my search for a E400/450, just curious what you all are using as your interior ambient color? Been to a few test drives and have been amazed at the wide range of colors that I wouldn't know which one to pick myself!
Seems like most photos I see for the W213 feature purple, blue, or amber.
Anyone use any of the remaining 61 colors?

I use the moon one with the climate setting.
I have to admit, this lighting is one of my most disappointing features. It’s cool and I love it, but with a few additional lines of code, it could have been SO much more.
For instance, why can’t I set custom colors to both areas? How come I have to use only their preset if I want two different colors? Both zones are capable of having different colors. Why limit the user?
Also wish you had the option of using the day/night light sensor. If I want to have a bit of color visible during the day, I have turn the brightness up full, but at night it can be a bit overwhelming.
And the color cycling is nice, but why can’t I have a slider that lets me choose the speed of the cycling. For me it cycles so fast it reminds me of smoking the good stuff and watching “2001: A Space Odyssey” after Frank left the ship for the last tine 😬

How timely. I was playing with the colors while stuck in traffic. I had been using #2 on 60% brightness. I just moved to #38 on 65% brightness. Also, I disable multi-zone as I like the same color everywhere.
Incidentally, does anyone have the welcome lighting enabled? I do not.

Count me surprised by how many people are going with purple! Figured most would go with amber/white while most of MB's marketing materials go with purple/blue cause it stands out the most.

I switch the colors about 1-2 times a week. Sticking to one color is boring. And they are always on the 100 brightness, I also opt for the multi random feature often as well.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Strange in my E450 Cabriolet it does not have the ambient light that runs up above the instrument panel My wagon has that one. Nor does the Cabriolet have the inflatable lumbers in the multicontour seats. Do the sedans have this? That’s where when you take a corner the seat bolsters inflate on the opposite side to hold you in. My wagon just has the regular seats. Dynamic I think it’s called.

Yeah the Cab doesn’t give you the “active” seats but I think the Coupe does

Thats Rod, yep thats what it is then, I have the Analog cluster in my Cabriolet. At least it's something different from my Wagon which does have the digital display. Other than that the Cabriolet I have is pretty much loaded minus the ABC air suspension. It was a 84K sticker.

I stick with purple/bright blue combo setting because it stands out in the daylight, whereas the other colors, not so much. At night I adjust it to suits my taste for the evening. Absolutely love the ambient lighting feature; only wish you could have daytime and night time settings. I also like the fact that the vents are lite as well; look like after burners on a rocket ship or jet plane.
p.s. I too have digital instrument cluster and it has ambient lighting above it.
