Video in Motion
Hi
Does anyone have Step by Step Instructions on how to enable Video in Motion using Vediamo? Thanks in advance. |
Hi. Welcome to the forums. Search option is your friend. I have no idea what a Vediamo is? But there are multiple posts about VIM in this forum all over, heres some reading material if youre interested. And I have a DIY for the harness installation, Im not sure if thats what you were asking about?

Wow, thats pretty cool but I'd hate to think of the ticket one could get watching a video while driving at night time. I don't even know how to play a video while I'm stopped, wish I did as that might be useful when taking a break off the side of the highway.

same as listening to music
instead of clicking on a song you click on the video file and it will play when u start driving the video continues (sound) but no image |

I thought I'd tried videos from youtube on mine and just the sound plays and it shows a picture on the screen of the first frame or something like that? I'll have to experiment more with playing videos from my iPhone, I have the feeling it won't work even when stationary.

I've tried both mp4 and .mov and could not get any of those recognized to play.
|
Maybe the Euro cars are different than the USA cars I'm thinking in this way.

Video definately does not work nor pictures from phone. Tried YouTube and pictures no go. Don’t really need VIm but if anyone knows if there’s a way to recode this without pulling apart the dash so videos can be played while stationary it would be appreciated. |

From what I've learned, because of the way our cars are developed and designed for 2019, there is no easy way possible at this time for Video in motion. Only the process of pulling apart the dash (which I won't do) is the only known way at this point.

I formatted an SD Card (eXFat) and put a few MP4 video files on to watch when stationary and they all work fine - full screen. Obviously cannot use commercial DRM /Copyright video but YouTube, home made and all the Mercedes ‘How To’ all work fine. |
i wil test some formats & also try to stream directly from youtube,
(but as far as i know they were mp4's that i played which are stored in my iTunes & then transfered to usb stick.) Stay tuned! |
On my (US) 2018 E400 I can watch movies when in Park. Format/containers used on a USB thumb drive are MP4 and MKV, full screen.
|
I'll have to try youtube and homemade videos to try out when I get a few moments. Maybe that's my problem; I was putting on legitimate commercial movies on the thumb drive; well see.

so,
youtube only sound by Bluetooth or carplay (with carplay u need to use the phone to navigate as no icon on the car screen) video on usb stick; i tested AVI / MKV / MP4 - alll without problems |
