warning going off sitting still
Hello all. its been snowing and slushy here. yesterday I was driving home, stopped at red-light lots of room. then my warning indicators started going off that I was to close to something . my question can snow and slush cause this? it happened twice last night while stopped at lights.

The ultrasonic sensors freeze over. This causes the parking assistant to think that you're about to bump into something. Different than the Distronic and collision prevention assistant RADAR sensors, which can be deactivated with too much snow/ice buildup. In the case of the ultrasonic sensors freezing, it's best to just turn off the parking assistant notification sounds. Once the bumpers warm up again, it should work normally.

Yes, slush and ice have caused mine to send warnings when I wasn't close to anything either. I tried to wipe them off when this first started happening but it would usually come back. Just reach over and turn them off like some of the others side.
