Galaxy Note 8 & wireless charging.
I guess people in Germany don't use phablets as my Note 8 charges wirelessly everywhere but in my newly acquired W213.
Not a huge issue as it's an awkward place to keep the phone since Android Auto does not replicate everything on my screen. May just end up getting this: http://www2.kudausa.com/kuda_mount_a...7-25-822.html# |
Interesting, my Note 9 (love this phone) does not sit flush in my 2018, but does wirelessly charge.

I shouldn't be able to use Android Auto wirelessly right or does that work?
Yeah my Note 8 doesn't sit flush, but charges when I take the case off (it appears to charge with the case in, but doesn't) . |
No, Mercedes has not yet introduced Android or Apple Car play wirelessly in the E Class.

Didn't think so. Wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing out Thanks Rod!

Wireless Car Play big drawback is that it puts a big strain on your phone's battery, causing it to drain, much more quickly.
Nevertheless, Mercedes-Benz was supposed to add wireless CarPlay support to its MBUX infotainment system, in the 2019 A-Class models. Do we know this to be true? |
If the phone is on the charging mat, I wouldn't expect it to be such a battery drain.

Unfortunately, it's a hardware changed that won't be retro fitted for us present MB owners. No big deal. I can live with tethering. |
You're right. If they bring out wireless Car Play in MBUX, it won't be retrofitted to us anyway.
