What fresh new hell....
Ok, so I can receive text messages on my brand new Mercedes, but I can't send them?? I downloaded all the contacts from my I-phone 6 in the car as per manual. However if I attempt to send a message to my brother or anyone who is a contact I get back "phone not supported" nag. What gives? Doesn't mater if it's tethered or not.
Car is E450 CAB. First the audio won't fade during directions ( dealer can't figure it out), now this. Getting a little ticked off that I can't perform simple tasks.

I received the same thing, not supported by phone. It’s an Apple thing. You can however do it if you use Apple CarPlay. You can eve respond via voice

Rusty.......if you have an iPhone, hold the speak button in your car until Siri comes up, then just tell Siri to text whoever from your contact list you want. Of course it works great via Apple Car Play as well.

I just use Siri and honestly haven’t used Comand to dictate a text. We’ve been using Apple Maps via Apple Car Play in the Kia Optima here in Maine. Have to say, it’s been quite nice. I may use it more at home in the Benz.
