I have a2019 E450 coupe and a 2018 E400 Sedan, yesterday while driving the 2019 coupe a message showed up on the command screen saying my command media was successfully updated. After the message I checked my nav map version and it said 2018/2019 v14, I turned the car off and then back on and checked the map version, now I have 2019 v15. I then check the version in the 2018 sedan, still has 2018/2019 v13. I have automatic software update turned on in the sedan, and checked for updates . Car says no updates are available... does anyone know how else to get updates besides going to the dealer. Does automatic updates work for 2018?

OTA updates do not work for North American 2018 vehicles.

Just use the online update via the Mercedes Me Portal. Put the update on a usb and it uploads in a few minutes. I have OTA updates in but unless you are driving for long periods they can take a long time to come down. I check the site regularly and have done 3 times this year.

Also, OTA is only for one map zone but the online download allows you to update all zones. But, yes, both of these are for 2019 only.

I don't believe we have a Mercedes Me Portal for download in the USA. We are forced to use the dealership.

We do, and you can download map upgrades, but it only supports 2019 cars (plus a few late 2018's of certain models (but not 213). I'm on my third set of nav maps and POI's since January, so I can confirm it works perfectly.
