Not a fan so far, pre-facelift was just fine, all it needed was some updated tech.

I am with you on that one. I have a fully loaded 2017 Luxury model with P3 and just about every option except for airmatic and heated steering wheel. Two options I would have done had I custom ordered as I had planned on doing. I had such an awesome deal I had to get it

Interestingly enough, speccing it like my 2017 model, this new one comes out cheaper by a grand.

Thanks for posting. I'm not a buyer. Daimler seems determined to market the E Class as a "sports sedan". In my mind, it is not. Audi, here I come.

You'd be surprised, that was my thought too before I got my CLS. I was a BMW owner of 25+ years, and was unhappy with their recent cars, I never thought Mercedes could make a fun car that drove better, but then the E43 won a C/D comparison so I checked out the E53 and CLS 53. With BMW sleeping at the wheel, the E-Class, at least in 53 trim, is very sporty, a great handling sedan with excellent body control, natural steering, and a fantastic powertrain. The 53 cars have a great balance between sport and luxury. I much preferred both MB's over my 540i and the M550i I test drove which were very weak in the corners and overall pretty boring. To quote automotive enthusiast Jason Cammisa when he drove the CLS, "When did Mercedes learn to s*** all over BMW." As for Audi, great luxury cars, but as for fun or sporty, I wouldn't describe the A6 as one.
