20” Tire size recommendation

I’m looking to pick up some used wheels (20x8.5 all around) with 245/45/20 tires installed already. Does this fit or would I need a thinner tires? If so, what tire size is recommended? Car is stock height. Don’t plan on lowering it (I think). Appreciate the help.

Need to also know the wheel offset (or ET value). The stock wheel offset is around 45. Bigger offset/ET number the wheel will be deeper in the wheel well, smaller offset/ET means it will be further out of the wheel well.
The 20x8.5 around should be OK, but check the ET/offset value on these wheels and check it on all 4 of them.
I think the tires will physically fit in a W213 but - 245/45 is a tire with 730mm diameter (109mm sidewall). The stock diameter on the W213 is around 680mm. This will make your speedometer off by about 7% (you will be going faster than what it is showing).

You can play with wheel and tire sizes here: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/

Appreciate the response.

I’ve search the forums but I don’t see a lot about 20” tire size for square setup.

So I just found out the offset on the wheels I’m trying to get(Vossen HF-3), per their website it shows +40 for their 20x8.5”

Those wheels with 40 offset will be fine. You may even look at spacers if you want them more flush with the fender (contact www.OtisIncLA.com). I am not sure about the tire with such large diameter. I would go with something closer to the OEM diameter, and maybe a bit wider. Consider 245/40 or 255/35, which are the recommended tire widths for an 8.5" rim (https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/c...rim-size-chart).

This is what 20" (8.5 front, 9.5 rear, ET35) look like, with 255/35R20 tires on both front and back (the rear tire looks more stretched on the wider rim).

Thanks, I’ll look into that.

I happen to come across carid.com and seen the exact same wheels. As I’m trying to build it, the only tires size they have as an options are 245/35. But 245/40 sounds more appealing with higher sidewalls.

Has anyone tried this setup:
I want to find out too i have 20" rims with 245/40/20 and 285/35/20. The offsets should work 35+ fr 41+ rear
Tires are from a c217 S550 coupe oem sizes.
