I haven't had great luck with my CarlinKit 4.0 wirelessly connecting and staying connected lately so I'm thinking I'm going to revert to a wired connection for CarPlay. Anyone know if it's possible to disable the wireless charging mat on these cars?
I don't want to wireless pad cooking my phone when I place it on top of it when it's plugged in. Most other cars I've had let you disable the cars wireless charging pad so I guess I'm just surprised MB doesn't.
Charging a device is a 2 way converstaion between the device and the charger. One cannot "cook" a device by leaving it on or connected to a charger. The device tells the charger what level of charging it will accept as well as when it has had enough charge. The charger will adjust accordingly.
I have an old Samsung cell phone that I use as a security camera. It has been on a charger continuously for 4 years with no ill effects.

At least for me and my 2018 E400, my iPhone 14 Pro doesn't lie flat on the charging pad when I have a cable plugged into it for CarPlay, so there's no need to disable it. Plus, during the times that I'm not on CarPlay I can still place on the pad to get a charge.
I had a similar problem. I plug my phone in using the usb c cable for CarPlay. if I put my phone in the wireless charging tray, when it is connected, I keep getting a message about the wireless charging is working and then not working. As a work around I "prop" my pone up on the edge or lip of the tray, so the phone does not lie flat in the tray, this way wireless charging is not enabled. I also remove the cup holder so I have more room to maneuver. This is my work around. Wireless charging is not enable and care play works. BTW, i can still put a cup of coffee in the open space and so far it has not tipped over or spilled. MB should also let you plug in a center console to use Car Play IMO.
