Tuning a 2018 E400 Coupe

My son has found a 2018 E400 Coupe that interests him. He's also interested in tuning it and getting a louder exhaust. I suggested finding a C43 with Performace exhaust since I dont know much about this engine and tuning it. Whats the concensus here? Appreciate everyones experience and knowledge.

Both cars have the exact same engine just tuned differently from factory.

I have a @VividRacing tune on my 2015 SL400 (same engine) and absolutely love it! Takes factory hp from 329 to around 420.

With the right tune, you can get close to the stock performance of the SL550, but without the extra weight up front. Also, the shorter engine will provide more space to work on the car if your son likes to do his own wrenching. As mentioned, the M276 engine is virtually bullet proof.

I also recommend considering unplugging the oil pump solenoid : )

Good to hear. And yes, since he was small he was always interested in turning wrenches. So the garage "shop class" will continue along with this vehicle. It will be the culmination of chasing a lawnmower for many summers.👍
