"hard coded" key
I just bought a 2018 E400 that unfortunately came with only one key.
I have been told that my year has a "hard coded" key to my vehicle's vin. (which I believe)
Dealerships use this explanation for not programing a used key.
There are many aftermarket companies selling USED keys (for my year car) claiming that a locksmith with
advanced equipment can erase and reprogram a key for me
What is the truth?
I don't trust the dealership.
