2020 E 350 4matic Rear brake pad replacement issue

Hello all, my first post and looking forward to getting familiar with this helpful forum. Im a moderate level DIYer. So I recently started getting dasboard messages stating that the brake pads needed to be replaced. I did the front pads last week which was an easy job. Now trying to do the rear and I cant get past the "check brake pads" screen to get to the "fitting position" screen. I know from research that you must enter that mode so as not to damage the parking brake. Any assistance in pointing me to the correct way to access the replacement mode on the screen ( i cant get past the "Check brake pads- See operator's manual" screen as seen in the pic)

Back out with the back arrow on the steering wheel, head to the odometer screen/trip screen then follow this video to enable the workshop menu

Maybe im just an idiot but for the life of me I still cant get into the service mode. I followed the above YT video, pressed the home and center button like in the video but it still stays on the mph/odometer screen. Any help is geeat ly appreciated so i can get into the "fitting position" mode so i can do the rear brakes. Ive done a ton of brake jobs before and can get them done in 45 mins. Its just that the computer is a pain in ***, im.used to working on old Camrys and Corollas and the occasional.Nissan.
This is what my steering wheel controls look like. I have a 2020 E350 4 matic

Make sure your doors, hood, and trunk are closed when doing the procedure. It won't work if any of them are opened.

Try taking out your key and putting it in the marked spot I believe near the cup holder area.

Since you have the pre-facelift, that video above does indeed apply to you, confirm you are in the odometer screen showing the mileage and not the speedometer screen, you might had accidentally swiped away from it when you are trying the button sequence.

nice, sounds like you made progress, when this message appears, it is usually the trunk not closed, the doors not closed, key not in vehicle and/or parking brake not (released?)

What was the reason why wasn't successful in getting into the workshop menu a couple of days ago? Curious.

It seems like i was pressing the wrong buttons on the steering wheel. What finally worked for me to get into Workshop mode was too hold down the "back" button for a few seconds and then press the middle "ok" button for a second. Worked for me to get in to Workshop.

Thamks again and if any issue comes up Im sure I will bother you guys again lol
