W214 AMG E53 – Air Balance Fragrance Retrofit (Glovebox Atomizer) – Pre-wiring/Prep
Quick question for those familiar with the W214 platform.
I have a 2025 AMG E53, and during the build the Air Balance fragrance system (glovebox atomizer) didn’t make it onto my final spec. I do have Energizing Air Control (P53) , just not the fragrance hardware.
Right now I’m using a Pura Car Pro, but honestly… I’ve had to stick it in the passenger door because anywhere else just kills the interior aesthetics. It works, but it definitely feels like a workaround instead of a proper solution.
So now I’m looking into doing this the OEM way and trying to understand how feasible it is.
What I’m trying to figure out:
- Is the wiring already there behind the glovebox for the atomizer?
- Are the HVAC ducts / injection points pre-configured, or does that require deeper work?
- Are mounting points already in place?
- And if everything is installed, is it just coding to activate in MBUX, or are there additional dependencies?
Has anyone looked into this (or done it on a W214), and is it more of a plug-and-play OEM retrofit, or something that turns into a bigger project once you dig in?
Appreciate any insight — especially from anyone who’s gone down this road already.
