Belt Wrap Kit for Supercharged M113 motors
#176
Help...
I started to install this belt wrap kit but hit a roadblock. The 10mm threaded port next to or behind the supercharger tensioner on my motor is not threaded!
Please see the attached picture. If this truly is the right port, I cannot finish the install.
Not threaded?

Looks like Mercedes or one of the sub vendors may have missed the threads on your cover. Never seen that before. Taping the hole out may be the best option to complete the install. PM me if you need any tap or bolt info.

Hi guys,
I bought one of these kits a while ago and attempted install today. Got all the way to the end but can't get the supercharger belt on. I have a Kleemann pulley (168mm) but otherwise stock.
The kit I got came with Gates K080530 which is a 1360mm belt. I see this kit commonly pictured with the K080558 which is a 1429mm belt. The video posted above starts with the K080530.. but then at the end he is running a K080537.
Is the belt I got too small (K080530)?.. there seems to be no way to get it onto the pulley even with tensioner at full extension.. it feels like it is about 1 inch too short.

Did you get this resolved? I am considering this kit for my CLS55. I don't want to run into this problem.

As an FYI, I just installed one of these kits on my CLS55 last weekend. No issues. I had to be creative due to the lack of space (I have a feeling the E guys have a bit more room between fan and pulleys to work), but if you've done some wrenching on cars before, its not bad. Try not to crank the pulley bolts on too to tight ....I couldn't get my torque wrench in there to verify torque, but as with all pulleys you want it firm, but don't crank it on as tight as you can (may seize up over time).
It may be easier for you if you pull the fan, I didn't do it on the CLS55 but did it once on a C32 and if same basic process it was very simple to pull out. If doing this kit again, I'd prolly go that route and save time and simplify install. Took me a couple hours with a break in there (most time was spent trying to get good angles on bolts and what not, would have been quicker and easier in the end to remove fan).

Is it recommended to replace pulleys after 100k miles? I'd be interested in this as a first mod, but would like price quotes with and without the replacement pulleys.
