2012 E550 Engine Vs 2011 E550 Engine

I bought 2011 E550 coupe a few months ago and now the engines are turbo. I looked at the specs and it seemed like the performance is about the same except for fuel consumption. It didn't make sense since the 2012 model has more power and torque. Is it heavier and that's why its performance is similar to the older model? For the long run, what engine is supposed to be better?Am I better off with 5.5 v8 naturally aspirated engine?

In the long run, a NA engine is better. Less headaches to worry about in terms of durability and maintenance. You don't have to worry about the 2 turbos failing. The downside is that the NA engines consume more fuel. You have already purchased your car, there is no point worrying about it. Trading your 2011 for a 2012 makes no sense if you're trying to save $$ on fuel. The depreciation hit you'll be taking will be more than your lifetime fuel consumption savings.

BTW...you're posting this in the wrong forum. This is the classified section.

Thanks for the info but is the new engine heavier or something? Why is the performance almost the same even with more torque and horse power?

btw, I just realized I posted my question in the wrong thread. My bad

The new engine is definitely a lot faster. Don't believe the MB official ratings. With a new tranny programming and more hp/tq, there is no way it's slower. The new engine is more efficient, faster due to the start stop feature and smaller displacement turbos.
