EQE SUV Section?
#26
I may be wrong, but I feel that the EQE will compete with the BMW IX; and the IX has a long line even now. And EQE is the one that Mercedes expects to be the volume seller in EVs

I received the order confirmation for my EQE SUV 500 4Matic from Mercedes Benz on January 2nd.
They committed to everything I requested, including the HyperScreen.
Estimated delivery to me, here in Sweden, is August.
I am told it will be MY 2023, despite this late date.

For August, that timing makes sense. I sat in an EQE SUV and spoke with an MB engineer at CES yesterday. He said 2024MY production will begin July 1st and he believes hyperscreen will become more available, such as for us in the U.S. market with its volume demand. For an August delivery after cross-ocean transport, it could still well be a 2023MY. Therefore, I now don't expect so see mine (if Hyperscreen does appear in our order guide) until the Fall. If Hyperscreen doesn't become available, I guess I am back to seeking alternatives. The engineer at CES confirmed that there is a (small) difference in the viewing angle for the gauges between Hyperscreen and the standard cluster, but enough to be blocked behind the top of the rim for me.

From my sources, "volume" production has begun. However, there is a ramp up and initial units have a variety of purposes before wholesale/retail orders are built. Spring=March, so a matter of weeks now for enough wholesale/retail volume to be built, go through what is called "containment" (part of the quality assurance process to hold on to vehicles logistcally in case anything is found in the earliest build), and shipped to create an inventory worthy of a marketing launch. Among the marketer's nightmares is an advertising launch that brings prospects in to empty showrooms.

Really wish we would have more info on the EQE SUV already. @ncatoffice can you share the DOG via pm or is that a no-go for you? Thanks.
@Wolfman can we have an EQE SUV section already on the forum please?

Spoke to a dealership yesterday. They insist that all models have the same 0-60 time at 6.3 which makes no sense to me.
The AMG Line Exterior Package (DG1) option is not going to be available for the top EQE model (the EQE500)?

I realize this is a different market and things are done differently, but the possibly useful take-away from this for you is that it can, apparently, be done from a routine production/engineering perspective.

Thanks ScottC2! It appears that the AMG exterior is standard on the EQE500 here. Can't get a clear answer in regards to whether the hyperscreen is an option on the EQE SUV at all. Dealers are just very poorly informed at the moment (or in general).

EQE500 gets AMG Line exterior standard in the US, and there's no hyperscreen available this model year.

Thanks for confirming. Too bad the hyperscreen is not available I guess will have to either go for the eqs or wait...

I should have mentioned that I am in the US. No idea on build dates. I am guessing that it should be 30-45days from the time the order gets into the Mercedes system. The longest wait seems to for the dealer to get an allocation, which is want I think your dealer is saying

MB usually doesn't announce the price until the car is about to go on sale, so likely march april or may this year, but the price should be within a few thousand of the Sedan price. The EQS SUV is actually the exact same price as the EQS Sedan.

Thanks... looks great.
I actually got a PO # from my Sales Rep at Mercedes of Manhattan - he said late June or early July. Hopefully they'll have pre-ordered cars for sale at the dealer before my quoted date.

This is the first detailed driving video of the EQE SUV I have seen. It’s not really a review. At the 11 minute mark, the person says that deliveries in the US will start in March
