EQE 350 charging door

Good day everyone...

So I went and did it, pulling out of the garage at home this morning after topping off the EQE I pulled out and broke the charging door off. Yea I'm a dumbass.... I always forget to close that door when I charge at home. When I'm at the EA chargers I never forget.

So now I need to see if either I can find the flap assembly and I replace it or do I have to take it to the dealer and get bent over. Anyone know where I can find the part number for the charging flap / door? or a parts diagram that I can look up?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, it happens. Shocked it hasn't happened to me yet. Don't have a part number, as these are still hard to find outside of MB directly. Let us know if you find out! Our SUV has a slightly sticky door when it opens - the sedan is super smooth, so I may want to try lubricating the assembly at some point.

Maybe you'll be able to upgrade to the self-closing door that's supposedly on the 2024 model...

I'm headed to the dealer to get mine replaced on Friday, I'll report back on the invoice.

for those like me that still dont have the muscle memory to close the stupid flap after charging in the garage, I found the part number and you can order the part for about $56 bones + shipping from any MB dealer parts here is the part number:

A295 630 19 01 Socket Recess

I placed my order already should arrive March 1st.

BTW here is the part number for the EQS 297 630 99 00

@sno thanks for this. For some reason in my admittedly brief search I couldn't find the part online. I'll look harder later. In my case, the door broke off at the plastic hinge. So the door itself is fine, but the hinge assembly needs to be replaced.

I was not able to find the part # either. I found it by looking at my broken door the number was there and I took a shot that it was the right one. You can not just purchase the door / hinge because it sold as an assembly and its call Socket Recess WTF is that for a name... LOL Here is what it looks like photo credit ebay.

Thanks again, and that's what I figured. If you're willing to get behind the fender liner or trunk liner then this doesn't look too bad. I'll still head to the dealer tomorrow.

The car is at the dealer, will have it back Monday. They will be able to reuse the painted panel. Cost to repair is $459.00, typical MB labor rates and all.
