Selecting tire size/type in MBUX

There are three different tire sizes available for the EQS SUV

265/50R20 30.5" diameter, 683 revolutions/mile
275/45R21 30.7" diameter, 676 revolutions/mile
285/45R21 31.1" diameter, 670 revolutions/mile

Given the differences in diameter and revolutions per mile for each tire size I am wondering how changing the tires affects the speedometer, odometer, and range calculations.

In the Taycan the tire size and type (Summer/Winter) could be specified in one of the configuration screens. I could not find anything in MBUX to change the tire size. The factory probably sets the initial size, but if you use different tire sizes for Winter tires you should be able to communicate this to the car's computer. Can dealers set the tire size with their shop computer?

Hey! I’ve asked a couple different dealers in my area the exact same thing about different tire sizes, as my winter (R21) are a bit smaller then my summer wheels (Standard R23).
My speedometer show a speed about 10% higher than my actual speed (Measures through gps). The odometer is also counting 10% more than what I’m actually driving, wich is suuuuper annoying (And wrong!)

The dealers keep saying it’s illegal here in the EU to change the tire sizes with the shop computer. I find that odd as I can change to different tire sizes through the normal settings menu on our Taycan and Cayenne. :/

Have you found out if it’s possible to change the settings? Or do I just have to suck it up and live with it?😅

Hoping to hear from you!

What size tires are you using? If it is one of the three sizes I list above, then your speedometer error should not be more than about 1%. You can determine the speedometer error at this website:

You must be a scientist?
I am an engineer. The difference from the middle tire to small or large is ~1%.
I doubt that speedometer and odometer (never mind the range) have 1% accuracy.
I'd say - within a margin of error. Ignore.
