2023 EQS 580
Do you think those are the full open/close doors? Or is that the same option code you have on your Sclass? I really don’t know at this point. When the car was announced, they showed demos with the self opening closing doors. They then said, the option was delayed until 2023. There was a code P24 that allowed the options to be ordered separately, then it changed to a DH0 for what I thought was soft close and auto open/close. I don’t know what is included in the DH0 for $2,750.

Comfort Doors and Soft Close Doors are two different entity's. Soft close just does the final pull in, you still have to manually get the door close so it can pull it closed.

I have a picture of a window sticker of one EQS450+ (early build car, serial number 1044) wth the comfort doors (and code D9V credit for missing comfort doors). It was actually a $2,250 option (well was supposed to be) for the '22 model year, and was pachage DHO. P24 was the package code for the factory and it included codes 67B front comfort doors (power and infinite stop), 68B rear comfort doors, and 883 soft close doors. I' say $2,750 is a reasonble increase and everything lines up.

I read somewhere (and Eaton may have been one) that the 2023 580 base price is $129500, up only $500 over the 22 base price. I’m hoping this is correct because mine currently at the VPC is a 23 model.

You bet, probably takes 500 micro chips to open and close the doors? LOL

A couple of car magazines agree, said the same thing?

German media is reporting new paints are coming. May be available in the US at some point.

"When it comes to paint finishes, Mercedes-Benz will be offering the EQS in velvet brown in the future at no extra charge. In addition, there are six new optional MANUFAKUTUR paint finishes for a surcharge of 7,021 euros each (magno night black, silicon gray non-metallic, Cóte d'Azur light blue metallic, rubellite red metallic, Kalahari gold magno and vintage blue non-metallic)."

Interesting, other than Kalahari Gold, the introduction of MANUFAKTUR colors both inside and out is a welcome edition, Rubellite especially should look quite nice on the EQS.

I think you all are saying the auto opening and closing doors are NOW available? Is this true? If so, I’ll make sure mine comes with it or I’ll happily wait for another one if available in the next year. Am I understanding this correctly ? (A little confusion over the various terms soft close, comfort, and auto opening/closing, so I just want to make sure

And while I”m here, is the 450 going to have the hyperscreen option again? I don’t need the 580 but getting it only for the screen .. hate to waste money for the other things I don’t care about

THX!!

As far as I know that option is still not available, whether it's due to Mercedes issues or something else? I had soft close doors (and not confused about auto doors and soft close doors) on my 2021 S Class, was very nice! On my 2023 EQS580 they are not available yet, with the frameless windows and window indexing not sure why you would need them? Most people don't know you have them and slam the doors!

I like how Rubellite is an extra $7,000 when it's no cost on an S class and available at regular metallic paint prices on MB's newest utility vehicle, the T-class. Both S and EQS are built in the same factory and probably go through the same paint booth, so the up charge is completely unnecessary.

Last minute ordering questions

HI! I checked and I only have a few days left to change any of my options for a 580 eqs.

I’d love to run some things by you

It will be extremely rare for anyone to be in the backseat, so I wasn’t going to spend extra to get the Pinnacle trim (the 3rd and top level) for the additional features for the backseat. The Exclusive trim (the 2nd level).is the perfect package for me.

BUT, I was just told you can’t get heads up or augmented reality in the Exclusive trim. You need to get the Pinnacle trim for those two features. I need to decide how much those features are worth to me. They come included.

Any opinions ? I’ve never seen either!

They are nice features to have, however if you haven't had them or experienced them before you can probably go without them.

Would anyone get:

the hepa filter option

or the window option that will keep out some rays and make it extra quiet. (I have no idea if the difference would be noticeable)

I have a 23 EQS 580 sedan on order which is currently sitting in the VPC in Baltimore. I like you had no need for the backseat so I ordered the exclusive trim. I got all the options I ordered, which includes the MBUX augmented reality HUD 445, the hepa filter 914 and the heat/noise IR glass 596. My car was built on 20 July so unless there has been a change, you should be able to get the AR HUD with the exclusive trim.

Thanks for this! He can’t add it to the order screen unless he selects pinnacle.. argh! (I did just find out he has a pinnacle at the dealership, so I can go by and see if i like those features enough to pay for the pinnacle)

OOoooooh, you got the hepa and the special glass for noise. Do you have any specific knowledge or experience with it?

No personal experience but I thought the hepa filter would be a useful option. I plan on using the car in southern Florida for 90% of the time so opted for the noise/heat insulating glass as it was recommended for warm climates. Hopefully cuts down on AC use so range will be better.

I ordered this (for my EQS SUV) because I live in California where, in recent years, smoke from forest fires has sometimes been quite bad. I figured that this is a problem that would likely only get worse in the future.

I ordered this feature, but I don't know whether or not it made it to the final build. How can I tell whether or not I have this? (What is the part number?)

The Special filter was one of only 2 or 3 options I ordered on my 450, and it came installed 11 months ago almost to the day. It's hard to say what difference it makes, but I wanted it for my wife's comfort, and as far as I can tell, it's doing its job. I'm happy to have spent the money on this one.

I have no other confirmation that the auto doors are back, just this one person’s build sheet. It may be an error that will be dropped before production. I also haven’t seen any news about hyper screen being back on the 450 models either.
