It has nothing to do with trucks or logistics, as indicated above, it's a decision by Mercedes to hold all 2023 models at port. Others have speculated its so that dealers can sell existing 2022 inventory

Yes, MB has a definate release date for the new models each year. It has been thos way for decades.

Crown Eurocars near me has two 2023 EQS 450+ sedans in stock as well as more than 10 2022 EQS 450+ & 580 models in stock.

You certainly did not look at the Crown Eurocars, Pinellas Park, FL website!

I checked a minute ago on the MBUSA Inventory page and there are four 2023 EQS sedans shown in inventory at Crown Eurocars - Pinellas Park, FL.

Looking at Crown Eurocars own web page shows the same thing.

Maybe there was a glitch this morning because I'm now seeing 320 580s in Mercedes inventory

OK, my apologies If I offended anyone. To me when something is in inventory it is available for sale & delivery. I contacted Crown offered to purchase a 2023 EQS 450+ if it can be delivered on Monday morning. I'm waiting for their reply.

Mercedes releases cars to the dealer after they clear the port functions. They are automatically put into the dealers inventory even-though they are still stuck at port. This can be for weeks depending logistics and the truck transport issue. This doesn't mean that the car is physically on the dealers lot. Many times they will show "in transit" status. Dealers don't like this process because they are invoiced and have to pay for the car at that time even though it may not show up for weeks.

I doubt that the salesman would risk losing a cash customer by saying a car is ready for delivery when it isn't.

How about asking the dealer to send pictures of the car at the dealership? If they truly have the car in stock, should be no problem

icwhatudidthere, your link is odd. The pictures show different models on the cars trunk. Onw shows EQS 450, another shows EQS 450+ but description says EQS 450 4Matic. I'm not sure what car they really have that you say you saw.
