Recuperation for breaking

I do understand what you are experiencing. The accelerator pedal feels a lot different in the two extreme modes.

I"ve convinced myself today that Intelligent Mode is the best for interstate driving and Strong for around town. So I agree with your recommendation,

As described, I haven’t been able to think of any - probably need a push to jog my approach.

In my usual driving area, if I were to use Intelligent Regeneration, I would have to use my foot brake a great deal. As it is, Normal is better for 95% and Strong better, if there’s no traffic behind me, for the balance.

Re driving like your son: I am frequently surprised at people (including my dear wife) not understanding that the best way to better gas (or power) mileage is to minimize the use of the brake pedal.

The only thing I miss from the Taycan is the no regeneration default - everything was done through the brake pedal. It gives a surreal perception that the car is floating when you are coasting. I know a lot of people enjoy the one-pedal driving - I did too on my first 3 Tesla's. After the Taycan and the EQS it irritates me when I drive my wife's model - coming down a slope or coasting to a traffic light you have to keep the foot on acceleration at a precise level just to adjust to a speed you like.
mode as you described. Could not find this in the manual though.
