In my opinion, if you just want to stop the navigation prompts but keep the route guidance going, you should look for an option to mute or turn off the voice guidance. You can usually do this in the navigation settings or by adjusting the volume during a prompt.

No, and I'm not aware of any navigation system letting you pause the navigation. What would that even look like? As said, you can mute the voice guidance or you can stop the route guidance and then restart navigation to the last destination when you want route guidance again. All this can be done via voice commands for example.
