That said, some announcements were made with multiple EA platforms like VAN.EA and MB.EA, the first vehicle is the all electric GLC was it? The EQS looks to continue EVA2:

EQS 580 SUV, Hummer EV SUT, Cyberbeast
I take it as no MY ‘26 EQS will be built but not sure on how many 25s are available. The 25s still show in the configurator on MBUSA.com
‘The 2026 will be Electric S class. It seems there are a lot of changes over 25 and 26.
The Mercedes EQS will undergo a facelift and drop the EQS name, which will be called the electric S-Class. It won’t be built on the MB.EA Large platform that Mercedes has ditched but on the current upgraded EVA platform with 800V technology.

I hope this is the case. I have the EQS 580 SUV and IMHO is butt ugly, R class vibes on styling, and the ICE counterparts I think look great. This is my subjective opinion.

It will be very interesting how renaming the 26' EQS to a EV S class will make it sell better despite a stark difference in styling of the OG S class. Interior, the two will likely look the same. Exterior, perhaps the EQS will take some some from the S class and vice versa. In any case, Mercedes thinks the hyperscreen sets the bar for interior luxury moving forward. It avoids the "tablet" dashboard which, in my opinion, is a cringe and unartistic, or lacks form. In any case, most of the time, facelift models have an abundance of interior changes compared to exterior.

Yes. I think the big and, most importantly, design-integrated screen screams luxury. The "tablet look" appears like an afterthought. Though I think that even the standard EQ screens look much better and more integrated than a Tesla-like tablet screen.
