I'm also stumped by why more of us where we live and can afford nice cars do not buy luxury electric. I feel sorry for people plunking down $150,000 for a new ice vehicle, who are unaware of what they're missing. My (our?) SA told me that he can't get people to take out an EQE service loaner. People say stuff like "I can't take that, I have to drive to Altoona today and then pick up my kid downtown"...with a 390 miles summer range. For all the hate the EQS has gotten for being oddly shaped, I don't think I've ever had more people come up to me wanting to know about the car--and that includes seven Porsches. They're surprised when I say the car needs seven minutes of charging to drive from Chicago suburbs to Des Moines, and maybe none. I think people are under ev educated, either willfully or not.
I can shed some light on this. The only reason I decided against an EV this time (I was between the S580 and a BMW i7, don't care for the EQS) is because I travel routinely to rural WV and don't want to deal with charging along the way or charging when I get to my destination. That specific trip is the only reason. The Tesla network dramatically improves that, but it wasn't available for BMW when I bought and I didn't want to buy and wait for that to roll out on an uncertain timeline.
Totally aware of what I'm missing, love the EV powertrain. My next one will be an EV most likely.

The supercharger opened up to MB, didn't know it also opened up to bmw. Good to know, what other car brands is it opened to?

I think I got a good deal. The MSRP is about $138,000 but my cost is $108,000 with incentives, loyalty program, and $10K from the general manager. what do you folks think.
It will be a one payment 3 year lease. I’m sure that I’m the only one in central IA that will have one of these. I’m not sure exactly why. There are many that can afford a car like this. Is it range anxiety still? I know that I’ll have no problem at all finding EA chargers on the long trips we make. I will NOT use a Tesla charging station. My new car will have increased range over the 2022 model. With warm weather I was getting well over 400 miles of range. From what I read on Car and Driver I may get 500 miles of range with the 2025.
It’s equipped with lots of other improvements.
My 2025 EQS 580 was delivered to me late Friday. There are definite improvements over the 2022 EQS 580. Here are some:
1) It appears the suspension is better. I don’t feel the bumps much anymore.
2) The brake is improved in my opinion.
3) The active distance assist works smoother. Even if a car in front is at a complete stop the new EQS comes to a smooth stop instead of a very sudden stop.
4) The stop and go is much nicer. It now works the great majority of the time for up to 30 seconds. This feature did not work most of the time on city streets in the previous car.
5) The energizing comfort+ with beautiful music and various types massages is awesome.
6) I like the fragrance option that I couldn’t get in the 2022 MY.
7) I’m not sure if this is the case but I think it’s quieter.
For the exterior, I’m happy that the MB star is back. I’m not sure about the new grill. I think the grill on the 2022 might have been better looking.
A big change is the larger battery with improved range. I haven’t really tested the range yet but it seems like it has improved considerably.
There may be other software changes which I haven’t seen yet.

I just didn’t like it deciding when to change lanes for me. We also have a lot of left lane campers and it doesn’t automatically change lanes and pass on the right.
