I left emails for Jeff and Marc. I am looking to extend the warranty on my 2012 E 350. I will report back if I get a response from them.

So far my results for my city (Corpus Christi, TX) was:

3 yr/75,000 miles - $3250
3 yr/100,000 miles - $4550

There are one and two years available but I plan on keeping my car for a while so I want to go as long as I can with a warranty.

Just purchased extended 2 years and 3 pack maint. from Marc Rose. He was the easiest to get in touch with. I usually don't post recommendations but 2 thumbs up for Marc. You could try calling around to get the lowest deal in nation and maybe save an additional $50 but good luck in getting a timely response.

I just got an extended warranty on my CPO 2011 C300 that was running out at end of the month. Local dealer wouldn't budge off of $2809 quoted price for 2 year extension (unlimited miles). I was able to save $800 by going through Jeff Santos - simple and easy process over phone. His contact info:

Regarding the 15% surcharge if bought after 30 days, is that still the case? Is it for ELW, CPO or both? Surcharge notwithstanding, I assume you can buy the ELW up until the time that the factory warranty expires, and the CPO up until the time the 1 yr. additional CPO warranty expires. Am I correct?

I just wanted to echo dlowe1's comments regarding Jeff Santos of Mercedes Benz of Elmbrook (Wisconsin). I too completed extending our CPO warranty with Jeff today and he and the dealership are a class act--no fuss, no muss, straight talk and facts and significant savings as compared to my local dealer. I bought a 2012 GL450 several months ago and love the vehicle. However, my factory warranty expires next month, and after talking to several MB dealers about an ELW I found out my car isn't eligible. It was sold from dealer inventory to an auction, and then to a non-MB dealer who I bought it from. MB says that because it was sold to an auction house it no longer qualifies for their extended warranty. I'm not a fan of third-party warranties, but have no choice at this point. Any recommendations out there? I know it's really just an insurance policy, but after having the starter, battery and seat heaters recently replaced at my local dealer I'm a bit spooked.

its not eligible because if it was sold from dealer inventory it means it was a CPO car that didn't sell and was sold off.

If it was a MBFS off lease that had never went through the certification process it would be eligible unless the rules have changed,

very curious to know if your car was a CPO before, it would be on the carfax report if you have access to it.

could be possible that MB has recently changed its rules, which would be very disappointing if they will not be willing to back 1000s of off lease cars that go to indy dealers

Yes it was a CPO vehicle. Still seems wrong that MB won't allow me to purchase an ELW because one of their dealers sold it off. I've asked that the issue be escalated but haven't heard anything back yet.

Just wanted to let everyone know especially if you are past the initial 30 days to contact Mercedes-Benz of Elmbrook, Waukesha, WI. Wisconsin doesn't charge the 15% surcharge!

I was actually in a local dealership purchasing a 2016 C300 and I asked them to give me a quote for the same warranty. They charge the 15% in my state and the price was very high. By purchasing through Jamie and Jeffrey I saved over $1,000 on the warranty. Jamie Ruis contacted me after I reached out to Jeffrey Santos and helped me with the transaction. I sent my details to him, he put it in MBUSA system, and sent me an electronic copy of the warranty and forwarded the paperwork via mail. All I had to do was give my credit card. Highly recommend this group as others have, they are excellent and very easy to work with!!

just a comment, but I had several dealerships around the country (CA, IL) tell me they could waive any surcharge if it was after the 30 days.

I think if the vehicle is STILL under warranty you can still buy the extended coverage..it might cost a tad more than the discounts discussed here.

yeah, I think you're not going to be able to get an ELW warranty out of current warranty. Can always try. There are other options as well, but not usually the standard MBUSA warranty - or other regional MB warranties.

If you buy a used MB, for you to be eligible for a MB extended warranty your car must be a CPO. So if you buy a used MB from a Mercedes that is not CPO'd or from a non-Mercedes dealership, you will have to get a 3rd party extended warranty.

I bought a used off lease mercedes from an Indy dealer and bought an extended warranty.

If the car was not previously CPO'd then you shouldn't have a problem getting an ELW. Many CPO'd cars don't sell and they get sold off to indy dealers, those cars are ineligible for an ELW, as happened to other buyers on this thread

I emailed Jeff Santos, Erin, Marc Rose, Dan Boone last week & just emailed Jeff Jackson today. I have heard back from Jeff Santos and Dan so far. My plan is to go with the one that outright offers me the best price on the ELW and not nickel and dime these folks who go out of the way to help us out.


The email I have for Erin is erin@smotherseuropean.com (found it on google) but I don't know if that is correct based on a lack of response. You could also simply call her by googling the dealers website and calling the main line.

By way of an update, Jeff Jackson was the best price for my search on a 2013 E550. He was $100 better than the next guy who was several hundred better than the 3rd place guy. I never heard back from Marc & Erin.

If I understand correctly...you have to purchase within 30 days of buying your vehicle, otherwise could be subject to surcharge?

Yes, calling shows you're serious, IMHO, and not just a disembodied, anonymous email phisher for pricing only.

Jeff Jackson of Tafel MB in KY. Straight up best cost and response for my 2 year CPO of those I tried, some who never even followed up. No games, knows his stuff, emailed policy to me while on the phone, just minutes and done. ELW CPO Maint, he's your man.
