i am new to mercedes i had a beamer before this gl so not really sure but there are lot of third parties like warranty direct, fidelity, wells fargo, carchex is well know among others just give them a shoutout and see what happens, cheers.

I just did an on-line chat with Tafel and they refused to give me Jackson's direct line nor did they confirm that he worked there.

Weird way to approach someone who wants to drop $5k?

Strange, I just purchased another PPM package from Jeff Jackson 3 weeks or so ago. Did the whole thing by email. jjackson@tafelmotors.com or call the main line and go to extension 1246

He's still there on their website. (502) 894-6829 is his number. Maybe they haven't updated it yet, but hopefully he still works there. Got my extended warranty from him and saved thousands and was done in less than five minutes on the phone.

Question...we purchased a 2013 GL-450 that was NOT a Certified pre-owned, can I purchase an MB extended warranty? It is still currently under factory warranty. Thanks for the information, I have gotten mixed responses regarding this and would love to hear what is factual.

You should be able to. But to be 100% certain you can contact one of the dealers (Jeff is a great choice) and give him your VIN, he can check if its qualified and give you a quote on the price.

According to Mercedes: the vehicle must be purchased from a MB dealership AND be a CPO vehicle in order for it to qualify for the ELW.

OR, you must purchase it from a private seller.

I got an outrageous quote for a 3/75 ELW for my car from one of the recommended sellers in this post. I took the Carmax warranty for 1/3 the price and two more years of coverage.

I purchased my 2013 GLK 350 from an independent auto broker and it wasn't CPO, but did have 2 years of factory warranty left at purchase. I didn't have any problem purchasing an additional 3 year MB ELW from Jeff Jackson just before my factory warranty ran out. Give Jeff a call with your VIN and he can check and give you a quote. He's great to deal with.

If you look back in this thread people really like USAA for elw. I went ahead and joined but haven't gotten a quote.
When I got the new S550 '14 I got a good price from the woman in CA who has also been mentioned a lot in this thread.

Not sure how you got these quotes but I just got the following for a 2013 C63 with 30k miles from Tafael:

Yeah, my experience with Jeff was shady, at best. And that's putting it nicely.

Since we're sharing, Jeff quoted $6328 for a 3/75 ELW on a 2014 still under the original factory warranty. Hardly a stellar deal and I passed on that

Has anyone had experience canceling an ELW? I purchased an additional 2 years from my dealer for $3,300. However, I'm still under factory warranty and do not intend to keep the car past expiration.

Having difficulty getting any dealers to call me back.

Yes. Call the F&I person where you bought the car, and request that they send you a M-B Extended Warranty Cancellation Form. It took about 5 weeks to receive my refund from the Dealer after signing the form.

Sorry you had a bad experience I called and he quoted me 1800 for two years extended unlimited warranty on a Certified Pre-owned. Nobody else I spoke to could touch that

I'm sure they will work with you. People don't have good phone manners these days. Forget calling. Go to the dealership. Call ahead an make sure the F&I person is there the reception often has their schedules and that of everyone else in sales and management. Be nice to that person and you'll get the information you need. If the F&I person who sold you the warranty or their office is not there see the Sales Manager who probably is their boss. Then, the Owner is probably on site; he or she is the one for the final escalation.

Remember to get the EW the dealer has to see the car if you are going elsewhere MB dealer wise for a trade, etc. Perhaps the new dealer can buy out your contract - it will make their certification process easier since most dealers don't do it anyway they just check the boxes.

This is an insurance contract (they may call it a maintenance contract but it is backed by and insurance company or sell-insured by MB, no difference to you) and by law when it is cancelled the balance should be pro-rated. Tell them that they need to take care of you or the car may not be available for an MB extended pre-owner warranty without much work on their part even if they have the service records indicating you been a good scout. Or if you're going to get a new MB, tell them perhaps to transfer it to that model. Then everyone is happy.

That will leave them guessing!
